Bro. I eat like a starved cub because I AM. I'm not eating like I need it to survive, because 'I feel like it.' I am by no means a caregiver, but I AM a protector who is VERY good at their job. So I WILL notice when the avians don't eat cause they're too busy reading or when Booze goes plain hours never even noticing he's hungry, let alone that it has a stomach TO eat with.
