He changed while still in the chilly bathroom so he didn’t have to show Ronan his weird, scarred body with its awkward tan lines and knobbly spine, even if he figured Ronan wouldn’t complain at the sight of Adam shirtless. His toes curled against the freezing tiles. In the next room, he heard Ronan noisily kicking off his boots. Adam stared in the mirror - no shadowy forest spirits or crying ghosts for once, just one tired, worn out teenage boy, thinning at the seams like an old blanket about to rip. Just a teenage boy sharing a room with another boy who was so much bigger than the body he was confined in.
