Aw shoot, seems the song didn’t do the trick. Now that they thought about it though, that probably made sense, Sans and MTT had a lot of differences in style, it probably carried over to their favorite music too.

Oh well, it was worth a shot! They give the skeleton a bashful grin before putting their phone away as the song faded off, coming to his side again since they had more searching to do.

“ S-sorry, what kinda music d-do you like Sans? ” They asked quietly, now more curious to see what he would come up with.

“i haven’t listened to music in awhile. but i used to dance hip hop and break, so something along either of those lines ought to be the easiest for me to get into. at least i hope that’s how it works.”

He chuckled, looking at them with a smile. “the song was good though. you picked a good song. i just couldn’t get into it.”

“ Cool tunes! L-like this one! ” They say with a confident tone as they pull out their own phone, scrolling through the music until they reached a folder Mettaton himself had uploaded for them.

Its not long before a catchy, upbeat tune begins to play out from the device as Holly themself begins to bob their head a little to it. It was an instrumental piece it seemed, as no vocal singing began to happen well into the music. Eventually the child peeks up towards Sans to see his reaction though, would this work for his dancing?? He had some cool looking gloves on now so maybe he was ready-

Sans puts his hands in his pockets, listening to the music for a bit. He has an expression of uncertainty, as if he couldn’t figure how to dance to it. But he was at least tapping his foot to it, trying to get his SOUL into it so he could dance to it.

But nothing happened.

The skeleton sighed, shaking his head. His foot kept tapping though, tapping to the beat until it was done. “i got nothing outta that, kiddo... lemme see if i can find anything on the undernet.”

Oh boy, what an accidental conundrum this was. They couldn’t say they weren’t kind’ve looking forward to the torrent of puns, but that didn’t mean that they had to admit this out loud to him either. They never realized how much fun could be made out of their little nickname!

At the comment about Christmas however, the child quickly noticed their slip up and looked a bit bashful. Whoops, they forgot Christmas went by a different name down here-

“ Oh, y-yeah. Named after an imp-portant guy, its actually supposed to be a b-big birthday! That’s why presents are s-such a big thing for it. ”

Aah, all those times their grandmother took them to Christmas Eve church were finally paying off, even if they couldn’t remember a HUGE part of the lore. Honestly though Giftmas made a lot more sense as a name for the holiday-

Sans blinked and actually paid attention to what they were explaining to him. “a birthday huh? sounds so much more involved than our giftmas.” Shoving his hands into his pockets, he let up on the name puns for a bit.

But he refused to be dunked. At all. Even into nap time.
