Zucchini (F1 means every flower will bear a fruit BUT your seeds won't be the same next year). Extras can be grated and frozen by the cup for baking all winter.

2. Potatoes grow beautifully in pots. One potato stuffed into a bag of compost, watered occasionally and left to grow all summer will give you a good feed or two with the lowest possible effort.

3. Tomatoes are often the most expensive veg by weight in the grocery store and are very easy to grow in a sunny location. Remember that typically the smaller the tomato the bigger the plant, so if you have a sunny little patio, get yourself a beefsteak tomato plant to make the most of it.
