Midnight Waves

Launch the game, choose your favorite music mix by clicking on the element on screen, and then ... chill. You want to chill to an evolutive music ? Just touch the “auto play” button and enjoy !

I work as the programmer for this game, with, as objective, to make it the lighter and most optimize possible. When I start coding the shader for screen, I had to optimize it so it run in only one pass, and because I cannot superpose the effect, I code a utilies who lerp between different effect before making the effect pixel by pixel. 

[EN] Cache-Cache is a student game made in two and a half months at the CNAM-ENJMIN, Angoulême, France. It requires a computer with two screens put back-to-back and two mice to be played. Each player will see the same diorama but in a different season, and will have to cooperate with eachother to discover all his surprise.

I arrive on at the middle of the project, and work on mostly polish and Tech Art (like making a new light system, particles effect on the mouse click depending on the material touch and interaction with the little world) for my biggest pleasure.

[FR] Cache-Cache est un jeu étudiant créer en 2 mois et demi, au CNAM-ENJMIN à Angoulême. Pour y jouer, il faut 2 écrans et 2 souris connectés à un seul ordi. Chaque joueur vois sur son écran le même diorama mais à différentes saison, et vont devoir coopérer l’un avec l’autre afin de découvrir tous les personnages cachés.

Screen-shader (Unity)

Some test (part 1) with shader when applied to the screen. All the value change was done in game with a script. 

First gif : Four part. Take one quarter of the screen and duplicate it. 

Second and third gif : false artefact from VHS like decoloration, RVB not aligned, vertical bar who mess up the screen, some part of screen with the right color.

Gif 4 to 8 : wave who deforme screen like heat. All value setable and can be smoothly change. 

Nineth gif (last one) : pixelisation of the screen to a precise number.

A game made in 48h for the Amnesty International Game Jam, about the Defenders of Human Rights . 

On a concept by Loreleï Simon, art director. With the help of two developers (their work are not in the final game)

In  " лабиринт", you have to play with a friend to explore the falling maze : one of you have to make path from falling tetromino while the other one are going to explore and fight many monsters. Go after all the treasure of this maze but be careful to not kill your ally by making a line of tetrominos.

Dans “” vous allez devoir coopérez pour explorez et pillez un labyrinthe en ruine : l’un d’entre vous devra aligner les tetrominos (à l’aide des flèches du clavier) afin de créer un chemin pour le second joueur (zqsd + space/manette)). Mais attention, si une ligne entière est formée, elle disparaîtra, emportant votre allié avec si il est dedans. Mais des bombes (shift/bouton x de la manette) viendront vous aider. Arriverez vous à trouver les artefacts ? (un indice : suivez la luciole lorsqu’elle rougit)

La Trahison des Matériaux is our vision of Magritte numerous paintings where he plays with the texture and how the people looking at it will perceive and internalize it. A texture is not only an image but also a souvenir, a visual feedback of properties, it is the capacity to feel something without touching it.

We chose to center the gameplay on the use of the "materials" and how you need to use the same logic as Magritte to complete puzzles.

In a closed room, play with the items' textures and use their properties to find the three missing textures (walls, floor and ceiling).

La trahison des Matériaux est un escape room sur réaliste. Réalisé durant la Digital Art Jam, en 48h au Centre Pompidou dans le cadre de la Fête du code créatif. 

Dans ce jeu, vous devrez vous échapper de cette pièce sans porte. Pour se faire, vous avez deux actions : porter un objet (clique droit) et échanger les matières (clique gauche) : et si vous transformer de fauteuil de brique en fauteuil de plume ?

Vous allez devoir pensez comme Magritte si vous souhaitez vous en sortir.

Until Aurora is a top down shooter where you have to survive waves of enemies. To defend yourself you can shoot light rays, the color of your attacks changes the further away your aim is from the avatar and the ripple of your attack will be greater too. In this game you are Kenny-Billy, a strong and proud Eskimo, tormented walruses spirits have risen up and are trying to get you. Your goal is to survive and repel as many waves as you can. wasd/arrow : Move in directions Left click : Throw a ray Mouse : move aim cursor Mouse wheel : Change the color of your attack and the ripple of your attacks. Alternate controls for wheeless mouses : Mouse : Move aim cursor to change color and ripple

Until Aurora est un jeu de tir vue de dessus, se déroulant dans l’hiver austral. Vous incarnez un petit inuit qui va devoir survivre à la longue nuit hivernale face à des vagues d’esprits animaliers. Comme seul arme : des bouts d’aurore boréale, symbolisant les lumières de l’autre monde. Pour apaiser un esprits d’une couleur autre que blanche, lancer une aurore de la même couleur !  Déplacement : zqsd/wasd ou les flèches directionnelles Tir : pointez la direction du tir avec la souris et cliquez droit pour tirez. Si le bouton “wheel” est coché : changez la couleur et l’amplitude du tir avec la roulette de la souris. Sinon : la distance entre le curseur et votre héros fera changer la couleur et l’amplitude du tir.

    “You are the Galatic Council. You wish to lead the entire galaxy to peace from your meeting room, and people are counting on you to bring them what they need. But if you fail, they will start taking care of it by themself, even if these resources belong to other planets! Be prepared for war, but killing is a last resort.

 Your colour is blue. The blue resource planets can be linked by a drag & drop to an inhabited planet. This will send the supplies to the people who need it the most. Blue ships can be sent to take control of a resource planet if it is controlled by a red planet. Be careful, though! Some people change their mind quicker than you may think.”

    A game made on 72h for the Ludum Dare 37. Available in Windows, Mac, Linux and Android.

    I lead the project, worked on the Game Design with Yann Roirand and coded with Lise Careel. All graphes were made by Augustin Bonne (also know as Forky) and the music by Aurélien Montero.

    Retrospectively, I learned to simplify an idea when I’m running out of time for a project and the importance of an intuitive tutorial. I’ll try to make a V2 of this game with the main errors and the bugs will be fixed and count how much time it took me for accomplishing every step.

Les Bloquants :

Afin de permettre aux Level Designers de l’équipe de travailler facilement sans qu’ils aient à coder, j’ai programmé sur Unity tous les éléments de telle manière que la création d’un niveau puisse se faire simplement depuis l'Inspector (fenêtre apparaissant de base dans l’interface de Unity).

Les Bloquants sont des éléments qui bloquent la progression du héros, mais qui pourront laisser passer ce dernier suite à une action. Exemple : une porte ou une foule. 

Dans la vidéo sont montrés plusieurs cas possibles d’ouverture des bloquants.
