i saw this video on reels recently and had to save it because he's genuinely so precious omg 🥺 that spurs game last night got me emotional all over again, he genuinely loves and cares about the game of basketball so deeply and it's so admirable. also bewildered at how someone so massive can be so adorable

my very favorite player in the nba for a multitude of reasons. my smiley, badass, kind, humble, cool under pressure, crazy smart point guard with the infinite ability to rise to the occasion. and man what a year he's had!!!! from the pacers hot streak to close out last regular season, to still being deemed overrated by his own peers in the league, to showing up each round of the playoffs ready to prove someone else wrong by stepping up for the moment time and time again... all the way to the nba finals to be met with a deeply devastating twist of fate. he won over millions of hearts across the world with some of the most incredible basketball i've ever had the privilege of witnessing. but to be knocked down off your pedestal in such dramatic fashion, to pick yourself back up, dust yourself off and keep working 100x harder, and to still do it all with a bright, heartwarming smile across your face, takes an extremely special type of person. i love this guy so hard and i hope that this year will be far more gracious to him, he deserves a comeback for the ages and i can't wait to watch it all unfold 🫶
