Grief is forever. It doesnât go away; it becomes part of you, step for step, breath for breath.

âItâs odd, isnât it? People die every day and the world goes on like nothing happened. But when itâs a person you love, you think everyone should stop and take notice. That they ought to cry and light candles and tell you that youâre not alone.â
â Kristina McMorris, Letters From Home
âI wasnât showing what I really felt. Real grief is ugly and uncomfortable. People look away from grief the same way they look away from severed limbs or gaping wounds. What they want is pain like death on a stage: beautiful, bloodless, presented for their entertainmentâ
â Sarah Rees Brennan, Tell the Wind and Fire
Let me make you a present of a secret. Itâs very simple. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.

âOf course Iâll hurt you. Of course youâll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence. To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter. To become presence, means accepting the risk of absenceâŚâ
Antoine de Saint-ExupĂŠry
Taurus season (C.B)(5.2.18)
âIf you have been brutally broken, but still have the courage to be gentle to others then you deserve a love deeper than the ocean itself.â
â Nikita Gill
âSometimes there isnât screaming anger or endless sorrow or a hurt that shakes your whole being. Sometimes thereâs just quiet. An absence. A refusal of the mind to acknowledge any feeling at all.â
And this is still grief

donât feel guilty for not being able to handle everything, for needing a break. you need to look after yourself, too. self care is not selfish.

Seeing people who didnât know your mom died is the scariest thing. They ask kindly âhows your momâ and I have to tell them she passed away. And all that pain comes rushing back.
I recently had to do this. A friend asked me why my mom didnât go to Cape Cod with meâŚI had to tell him she died. It was awkward because I know I make mountains of FB posts about my momâŚ
âYouâre going to lose people in your life. And realise that no matter how much time you spent with them, or how much you appreciated them, it will never seem like it was enough.â
