How can you bring peace to the World if

There is credible evidence that exposure to what you would rather avoid is curative and so is the weaving together of a coherent map or narrative of your experience.

If you actually want something, you can have it. The question then is what do you mean by actually want? And the answer is, you reorient your life in every possible way to make the probability that that will occur as certain as possible. And that's a sacrificial idea right? It's like, you don't get everything, obviously... But maybe you can have what you need, and maybe all you have to do to get it is ask; but asking isn't a whim, or today's wish. You have to be deadly serious about it.

The purpose of life, as far as I can tell, is to find a mode of being that’s so meaningful that the fact that life is suffering is no longer relevant.

There’s nothing like consulting your existential terror.

You know how you feel when you hide? You know, you feel like a pathetic scared rabbit - and that’s what y'are! So, you’ve gotta be more than a pathetic scared rabbit, and you do that by facing the chaos that exists in your own life and turning it into order.

Face the demands of life voluntarily. Respond to a challenge, instead of bracing for catastrophe.

What you need most is to be found where you least want to look

“Why be virtuous? That’s the question. It’s so that you can bear the fundamental suffering of life without becoming corrupt.”

What saves you in the encounter with the snake, is your capacity to let things go, and die, and come back to life.

You don’t want to underestimate the degree to which you can change the way the world manifests itself to you by changing what you’re aiming at.

The path to paradise is through hell… and if you don’t go there voluntarily you’ll go there by accident…
