This song is for my album 💗

So stoked to be able to take my band and crew on a vacation at the end of a long and wonderful tour. For all their hard work this year, they really deserve it. Thank you to Hamilton Island for taking such great care of 125 of the people who work tirelessly to make sure the 1989 World Tour stage gets built, the lights are on, the costumes are made, the guitars are tuned, and the show goes on.

I know what it’s like to have a mom with cancer. It’s rough, huh? When I was 10 years old, my mom was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Just 20 days after my 11th birthday, she passed away. On September 29th, (exactly ONE week after I come to your show in KC) it’ll be 17 years since she’s been gone. *I’m tearing up writing this* It took me 13 years to go visit her grave. I grabbed my guitar and my dog (Rusty) that my mom got for me right before she passed away. She is at a small cemetery about 40 minutes from my house. I couldn’t find her grave at all, so I called my aunt. I was on the phone with her, bawling, then looked down. Rusty was looking up at me smiling, sitting right in front of her grave. Rusty is now 17 ½, and still going strong. I read my mom a letter, then played/sang her “the best day”. In August, I also lost two people that were close to me within 5 days. Both of them had cancer. Jeanette, who was a motherly figure to me, and my friend Heaven (who you met at St. Jude), who was only 16.

With that being said, I have a song request. Could you play “The best day” for your special song in KC night 2? It would mean the world to me. My mom was always there for me. I lost my best friend.

Nothing lasts forever isn’t just lyrics to your song, “wildest dreams”. To me, it goes much deeper. The downside about life is it doesn’t last forever. Make every day your best day. Don’t dwell on the negative, and focus on the positive.

My signs took 13 sets of lights (650 lights total), and my costume has 13 bunches of fabric. The shorts underneath my costume are nike pros, and they’re the color “swift”. When I saw that, I knew I HAD to wear them at your concert! I planned to go to my moms grave with my dog in my costume and holding the signs on Sept 13th, but my dog got really sick, and I had to take him to the vet. (He’s better now). Instead, I had a photoshoot with the timer on my phone. My cat apparently wanted to photobomb my pics. :)

….And did you notice that most of the songs have linking words to ‘This Love’. I think that shows that the whole album 1989 is about this one love, this love who influenced the whole album. This Love…the whole story from the beginning to the end.
