“Alright, but what if you tell the Universe you’d prefer to die in a different night, wouldn’t it take your wish into consideration?“ Nick asked, finding it easier to play along with her, instead of using logic to argue. “Indeed“ He agreed with her, walking into the pizza place right after her, placing his order after hers. “Want anything else?“ He said, raising an eyebrow down at her. 

“Let’s make sure you don’t die tonight, yeah?“ He joked, smiling down at her as they walked together. With the pizza corner indeed right around the corner, Nick was careful to keep holding her and still open the door for her when they got there. “Ladies first“ He said, biting his lip.

Smiling at her once she accepted his offer, Nick watched with amusement as she finished her drink. Truth be told, he was quite impressed. Assisting her with the jacket, he couldn’t help but smirk at her when she spoke again. “Well, alright, if you excuse me…” He trailed off, before wrapping one arm around her waist to help her walk. “There’s a great pizza place just around the corner” He said, once they reached the street. 

Riley nodded and asked the bartender for a refill on her drink and a shot for herself. She turned back toward the girl. “I’m Riley, by the way.” she smiled slightly grabbing the drinks once they were finished and handing the brunette hers. “You come here a lot?”

“Hollis, lovely to meet you Riley.” She graciously accepted the drink, thankful for the other girls kindness despite their rocky meeting. “Probably too often. A few weeks ago my tarot cards told me I’d meet my “soul mate” here so, I’ve been coming weekly. But I think my cards may have been trolling me because this placed is filled with creeps.”

“I get it, trust me.” she handed her a napkin. “So, you want me to get you another drink? Maybe it’ll cheer you up.”

She smiled and graciously accepted the napkin, attempting to blot her stain. “If you’re offering, I’m accepting.” 

Nick couldn’t help but grin at her, talking about planets and pizza. Drinking half of his beer at once when the bartender got back with their drinks, he stepped closer to her and shrugged. “Wanna go get some pizza? But it’s gonna be on me, I insist.”

“What does mercury in retrograde means?“ He asked politely, before placing the jacket over her shoulders. “May I offer you a replacement drink?“ Nick said, flashing her his best smile. 

“Is that what you tell yourself?” she shook her head. “Geez, you can barley stand straight. Should I even bother to ask if you need help? I feel like you’d just snap at me.” she smiled slightly, the brunette’s spunk definitely reminded her of her own. 

"As a habitual spiller of drinks, yes. Let me live in my own delusional world, please.” She laughed softly and loosened up a bit in the other girls presence. “I’m not gonna snap at you again, scouts on. Drinking just turns me into a pop off queen for some reason.”

“Shit’s, that’s gonna leave a stain“ He said, shaking his head. “Men are crap, that’s the truth.“ Taking off his jacket, he held it up for her. “May I?“

“Come on, leave the lady alone“ Nick said, getting between the brunette and the man bugging her. Once the guy walked away, he turned to her and flashed her a smile. “You ok?“

“Calm down, it’s only natural to check on somebody when they drop something. It’s a way of making sure they’re okay. Although, if I can suggest something, I’d probably try to clean myself up before the stain sets in. No use wasting time arguing with me.”

“Stains give clothing more character.” she slurred, glancing down at the splotch on her dress. 

“No more than usual,” she mumbled taking another chug. “Definitely nobody interesting.” She paused and smirked at her. “Well, almost nobody”

“Good choice,” she smiled before taking a sip of her drink bc im assuming they’re at a bar or something idk. “I’ll make sure you have plenty of fun tonight.”
