Forget the idea that you have one big chance to get things right. To your breakup God says, “Behold, I make all things new.” To the bad grade He says, “I make firm the steps of the one who delights in me”. To the one with plans that are utterly failing, God says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it’s the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”

Predominantly (I want to say predominantly; that means that’s not everyone, but mostly), love is purely emotive and can be fallen into and out of, depending really on how happy the other person is making us. So really, we don’t love the other person; we love us. That’s what we love. That’s not love. Love is, “You make me happy, so I love you.” That’s you loving you. That’s not you loving someone else.
