i just wanted to ask beforehand, but i'm running an rp where there'll be portrayals of sex workers, and while i do have rules outlining that portrayals should be respectful, no slurs should be used unless the mun is a sex worker, and that if any of these rules are broken the mun will be asked to correct their portrayal or leave the group, i was just wondering if i could reblog a few of your posts to our inspo blog and link to them in our rules?

why is slut a slur against sex workers? i thought it was a slur against promiscuous women?
why do you think they call "promiscuous" (lmao nice word what is this the early 2000's?) women sluts in the first place? we've literally explained this over and over again. the insult is to compare someone to a sex worker whether calling them slut, hoe, whore, etc. that's what it all boils down to. people seeing us as lower than them and insulting someone to shame them by "bringing them down to our level".

just as you wouldn't use a racial slur if you weren't apart of that race, you cannot use a sex worker slur if you're not a sex worker. doesn't matter if your muse is or not. it's not for you to reclaim.

i understand you don't need to be a sex worker to be distrustful-- i'm sorry if that's how my ask came across. i don't want to add to any stereotype and i want to do my best to be respectful. as always, i want to thank you guys for your answers and help.
if it's something that already happened with your muse being murdered, there's not much you can do about it save for be canon divergent. that's your decision. some published authors really don't think about how their fiction can align with true horrors in the current world. if the murdering a sx worker trope can be avoided then it should be, 💯
i have a question, because the character i write is a sex worker, and in her canon she was killed-- i write her as if she survived the act, and i think that because of the severe violence she received as a result of trusting the man who ended up killing her, she wouldn't be keen to continue sex work. does this make sense, or is there a better way i could approach it? i don't want to disrespect the work she does but i think she'd have huge trust issues of men in general after.
you don't need to be a sx worker to be distrustful of men. you're perpetuating a violent stereotype and you're aware of it, that's all i've got to say about it.

hi there. someone i follow is writing a sex worker, and the way they talk about their muse sometimes (making posts like how their muse stops sleeping with other people when she falls in love and is "fiercely loyal" at that point) rubs me the wrong way. i'd like to (politely) talk to them & point out that they've just equated their muse's job with infidelity in a harmful way but i'm not sure if i'm overreacting. do you have any thoughts on how i should proceed? thank you so much <3
unfortunately non sex workers, that haven't a clue about how a job has nothing to do with your personal relationships, really are incredibly ignorant when on this topic. and this writer is no different in the fact they feel their clients and their significant others fall into the same boat.
honestly you can try and talk to them if you'd like, but i've personally come to the conclusion that you can slap someone in the face with a book of knowledge about why they're being problematic and they just won't give a fuck. I hope that's not the case when you talk to the person displaying this harmful ass stereotype - but I would not hold my breath.
