TBH I think I stayed away for so long because I was burnt out and didn't want to admit it. I'd been playing almost every day since the Season of Rhythm, but after the disappointment I felt with the Season of Duets and the many issues the game was facing around a year ago, I reached a point where I couldn't keep logging in. It felt like nothing was going to change with TGC or the direction Sky had been taking over the past few years.

Over the past year, though, I've found myself becoming much more interested in the photography side of games. That's ultimately what brought me back. The game feels special to me again. Since returning during the Anniversary event, I think I've logged in every day, not because I feel like I have to, but because I've genuinely enjoyed quietly collecting, exploring everything I missed, and experiencing the world again with the curiosity of a new moth. It almost feels like I spent a year in Orbit and came back reborn ya know.

Recently, Definitely Not Bea's video called "Why Your Favorite Spot in Sky is Empty (and how to fix it)" showed up in my recommendations, and it inspired me to start capturing Sky through my own perspective. I know there are plenty of people who take beautiful landscape photos, but I want to do this because I enjoy it.. More than anything, I want to let go of the pressure surrounding optimization and IAPs and simply return to what made me fall in love with Sky in the first place: exploring the world, appreciating its beauty, and meeting new people.

Of course, there are still things I'd like to see the devs add or improve, but for now I'm content with simply enjoying the game for what it is. I've spent enough time focusing on what Sky could be.
