she grinned before smacking his cheeks playfully as she faced his face to face hers before inching closer, then closer, before she smiled as she smacked their foreheads together. “no— i genuinely think you’re not.” because if you are i wouldn’t be here now, would i? “you’re the best male i’d ever seen and i’d totally date you if i’m not dating someone right now.” or if you want me back but i know you’d prefer her instead. “and do you want me to go on a rant on how perfect you are, because i could.” i really could. i just didn’t know if you could do the same for me back.
one sided love, feelings that are continuously suppressed, are for more reasons than one unhealthy. and ten is a professional at this; had spent years pining over a girl that would never look at him the way he wish she would. and the reason was clearly simple -- ten was average, a simple florist, a boy with a love for flowers (and one bigger for her).
he doesn’t like being whiny, doesn’t like talking about his own insecurities with someone else. but something about being with doyeon is calming to him and he can only sigh as he looks at the girl beside him. she isn’t nayeon -- is in no way, her, but the comfort he finds is nice.
momentarily he feels sorry for being the way that he is.
“really?” he smiles and there’s a hint of playfulness etched across his lips, “you’re only saying that because you’re my friend though,” he teases but it’s nice to hear this -- even if a tiny part of it feels fabricated.
he almost thinks that doyeon is too nice to ever say no to him. but he takes it anyway, turns to her and pokes at her cheek. “if your boyfriend heard that he’d probably get really mad,” he says but there’s no malice to it. he takes a moment to think about how him and doyeon would be like -- how the both of them would fit. it doesn’t seem too bad, really. but he brushes the thought away quickly.
“god no,” he grins and he’s laughing now, happy to have spoken to her about this. “i just needed some sort of confirmation. i just... i like someone, but they don’t like me back,” ah. “simple ... teen stuff.”
