Technically mystery's motif is the stars on their original sweater vest but i made that romystery's shared symbol so i gave them swirls/question marks instead
on that note i Was gonna go with a swirl pattern for their sweater vest but suddenly i was taken back to 2021. and so i decided against it.

Also, Iroh was there? He literally watched Sokka make out with the moon spirit. And you want to tell me that a romantic sap like him would not have immediately told Zuko about this romantic tragedy? Please, Zuko has known about this for ages, he just knows that this is not an acceptable situation in which to say “yeah, I know.”

What if the Truman show did a queerbait arc but then they found out Truman was gay for real and had to recalibrate and their tv network would have to take a definitive stance on homosexuality, yay or nay in the late 90s and it's not like they can recast Truman. They would have to either plot him into an it's okay to be gay fake happy relationship like they did with his tv wife or try and scare him off homosexuality by doing homophobic gay misery storylines at him to try and keep him firmly in the closet.
People are so critical of the latest episode of The Boys, but it's lowkey my favorite one of the entire season.
I like how we got to spend time with the characters. I don't care if it was filler, I feel a more decent level of connection was bridged for me this episode. Something I felt was a bit lacking in the last 4 episodes.
I especially love how they handled Firecracker, too, with Black Noir and the Deep's conflict hitting at a close second.

I won't lie, as much as I wish someone like Annie or even Butcher to be the one to do Firecracker in, I think I like way the show handled it better. Mainly for the symbolic reasons.
We have the supposedly devout Christian literally and metaphorically throwing her faith away so that she can prop up Homelander as a false idol. Only for her to meet her end at the hands of the devil she sold her soul to.
Then there's the extra symbolism of having a character who is obsessed with all things America bleeding out on a symbol of America.
But it's also a great contrast with how A-Train died at the start of the season. One died bravely laughing at the face of death to sacrifice himself for the greater good. While the latter died pitifully and timidly, begging for her life while she stood for nothing but her own gain. One figuratively saw the light, the other embraced darkness and died alone. It's not at all subtle, but it is fitting.
Kudos to Valorie Curry for playing such a loathsome yet pitiful character. Her sendoff was beautiful and I hope she gets noticed more after this.
It makes me kind of sad to see people saying it’s bad writing for Sage to both be extremely intelligent and also deeply emotional.
Her go-to methods of distracting herself from her mind are literally self-harm with the ice pick and binge eating junk food. It may look like fun, but it’s merely unsustainable, fleeting and destructive joy that it brings. She’s slothful: surely she’s smart enough to have a very effective method of book organisation in her head, but she just cannot be arsed to implement it. That sloth trait is why she didn’t bother making some grand plan before Homelander accosted her. These flaws are a core part of her character… it’s not an issue with the writing. And it’s some of the very first things we learn about her.
Just because someone knows better doesn’t mean they will always act on it; she’s still human, and one that is deeply traumatised by her experiences with and intimate, perhaps singular, understanding of society’s injustice.
