My boss was supposed to return from vacation today.
It’s been a ROUGH 10 work days without her. There are a handful of things only she handles and she didn’t share any of that information with me before she left.
Our owner is upset and has been on his own vacations for the last 3 weeks. I’m stressed and beyond exhausted.
It’s now 11am and she’s not here. 3 full hours late. Maybe she quit? Maybe she just said fuck it and isn’t coming in today?
There is so much to do. We’re so busy and understaffed.
Yes, she absolutely deserved her vacation and was so burnt out but also; you fucked me royally when you left by not leaving me any instructions AT ALL for certain critical components of our business. 🙃

We had swim lessons this morning for both kids! It was chaotic as hell for Eleanor and I’m hoping the Monday night class goes well. One great thing is this facility has indoor and outdoor facilities! Unfortunately one kid was inside and one was outside so I was running between the two but they both loved it.
I came home and wallpapered a small section of the kitchen. Of course it took an hour instead of 20 minutes because this 100 year old house doesn’t have a single straight wall. Lowe’s run tomorrow for stain and then I’ll be happy.
The kids and I made cookies and muffins, watched a LOT of Frog & Toad on AppleTV and looked for Jacobs electric blanket forever. It’s gotta be here somewhere!! They’re too expensive for me to just rage clean and throw it out.
We then finished leveling the front area from the ramp removal and spread grass seed. The kids played with the sprinkler and trampoline while I grilled chicken broccoli & cheese foil packets. No dishes!
It’s been a nice Saturday. No rushing or hurrying. Just a slow easy day minus the early morning swim lessons. I needed and appreciated it.
The heat is officially arriving next Summer. Highs over 100 with immediate boob sweat humidity levels.
It’s been fun enjoying my flowers but most of them are about to be melted.

I made a cherry cheesecake poke cake to take with us today to the bbq. It was surprisingly a lot of work for a poke cake which are usually 3 steps. I hope it’s yummy and it stays cold on the drive down.
Also bringing a watermelon, ya know - balance.
