1615 Broadway, Oakland The Cathedral Building is a Flatiron-style building designed by architect Benjamin Geer McDougall and built in 1914. Also known as the “Wedding Cake,” it is a fine example of Gothic Revival architecture with its ornate spires, arched windows, finials and decorative patterns.

Lieberman Productions

Hilliard Architects designed the office and production facilities for Lieberman Productions, an award-winning video production company specializing in direct-response infomercials and TV spots. The work stations were custom designed, curving to maximize ergonomics and space-efficiency.

As hard as it is to believe, these stunning images are actually BIM (Building Information Modeling) renderings! They were produced using the software Revit.

Lycée Français La Perouse, San Francisco, CA

Hilliard Architects transformed this historic landmark building in San Francisco into a total immersion French language school for 250 students. Hilliard maintained such special building features as the exposed trusses in the library, which are covered with a special fire retardant intumescent paint that swells up when exposed to heat.

In 2009, the project won the Academic award from the Commercial Interiors Contractors Association (CICA).

The Center for Integrated Brain Health and Wellness, Martinez VA Medical Campus

The Center focuses on the treatment of Veterans with traumatic brain injuries, providing rehabilitation and research for better diagnosis and care.

Collaborating with the VA physicians, psychologists, and therapists was key to the design. The criteria: create a center appealing to younger Vets in their 20’s, encouraging their use of the facility.

Features include:

Modern fitness gym a with 2-story rock climbing wall, Pilates and weight machines

Clubhouse with pool table, flatscreen TV and video games

Therapy rooms

Counseling/Conference rooms

The Center was featured in an article by the Sacramento Bee that particularly addresses the veterans' use of the unique climbing wall.
