What the hell do you do when you have writers block with your biggest fanfic? I’ve managed to only write 1700 in the span of a few MONTHS!! I have not updated Villain & Violent, Infant & Innocent since Novemeber //:( I just don’t know how to progress Shanks and Luffy’s newfound friendship forwards and the bond that keeps them tied to each other. Everyday I’m so greatful for the few Dragon-centric god valley incident flashbacks because I get to see more Dragon and Luffy content that I’ve been dying to see after the "A child is any parents weakness" so many chapters back
I keep on thinking about what the Monkey D. family could’ve been
What if Garp had taken up Roger’s offer? Would’ve Dragon changed his own course? Probably not, but it would mean they would not been on the oppsite sides of the government
Would Dragon have still left Luffy with Garp or would he kept him? How would Luffy grow up? Just as alone in canon, or maybe just a little less?
Would Luffy still grow up on Dawn Island? Would he still have met Ace and Sabo? Would Garp, Dragon and Luffy even have the chance to be a real family? What would it take for them to be together?
Or what if Dragon have stayed a marine? Would he finally be able to raise Luffy? Would Luffy even be born to begin with?
How would’ve Luffy grown to be if he was loved and raised by his family in Foosha? Would Dragon take Luffy out on walks down in town to play with the other kids? Would Garp strut around and show off his handsome son and adorable grandson to everyone in town? Would they eat big dinners together in their own house? Keep a hyperactive Luffy from running around and breaking things? Cuddle up in front of a fire while the stars shine over them? Would they have loved each other?

y'all are sleeping on the potential of Rayleigh for being Luffy's father figure
think about it though everyone always defaults to Shanks but Shanks knew Luffy for like a week tops and yeah it was a very impactful week but Rayleigh trained that boy for TWO GODDAMN YEARS and then he cried when he eventually moved on, Luffy gave him the will to keep on living he loves that boy so fucking much
