“If you don’t get the groceries by six, don’t bother coming in for dinner,” your mother’s voice crackled through the phone, sharp and demanding.
You stared at the wall of your entryway, the phone still pressed to your ear. You didn't even have your shoes off yet. The call had lasted exactly three minutes, and in that time, your parents had managed to list four errands you needed to run and one guilt trip about how your sister was "struggling" with her new job. You sighed and tapped the end-call button, the silence of the apartment rushing back in to meet you.
You didn't move for a long time. You just stood there, your hand still gripping the phone, staring at the front door you had just closed. The heavy weight of your bag was digging into your shoulder, but you didn't have the energy to take it off. It felt like the air in the hallway had suddenly become too thick to breathe.
A soft sound came from the living room—the rhythmic click of a glass being set down on a coaster. Zayne stepped into view, his gaze sweeping over you. He didn't ask how your day was; he didn't need to. He could see the slump in your shoulders and the way your eyes looked glazed and tired. He stopped a few feet away, his expression calm but his eyes searching.
“You’re shaking,” Zayne said quietly. He didn't reach out yet, giving you space to breathe. He knew that when the world demanded too much from you, the last thing you needed was someone crowding your personal space.
From the kitchen, Sylus leaned against the doorframe, his arms crossed. He had been listening to the tail end of that phone call. His usual playful smirk was missing, replaced by a frown of genuine annoyance. He didn't like the way your parents spoke to you, and he especially didn't like that you felt you had to apologize for being exhausted.
“Put the bag down,” Sylus commanded, though his voice was surprisingly gentle. “The groceries can wait. The world will not stop spinning if you don't buy a carton of milk in the next twenty minutes.”
You let the bag slide off your shoulder. It hit the hardwood floor with a heavy thud, the sound echoing through the quiet hallway. For a moment, you just stared at the floor, feeling a strange sense of vertigo. The transition from the loud, demanding tone of your mother to the sudden, heavy silence of the apartment made your head spin. You felt like a machine that had finally run out of battery, unable to even lift your arms to take off your coat.
Zayne stepped closer, his hand finally finding the small of your back. He didn't push you toward the couch; he just stood there, a steady presence that grounded you. "You've been running since six in the morning," he noted, his voice low and clinical yet kind. "Your heart rate is too high. Take a breath."
You tried, but the breath caught in your throat, turning into a jagged sob that you couldn't quite hold back. The frustration of the day—the deadlines, the endless emails, and the crushing expectation to be the "reliable one" for your family—finally broke through. You didn't just feel tired; you felt invisible. You felt like a tool that was only useful as long as it was working, and the second it started to wear down, it was just an inconvenience.
Sylus moved then, stepping away from the kitchen to close the distance. He didn't say anything at first, but he reached out and gently took your phone from your hand, sliding it face-down on the side table. He was effectively shutting off the outside world for you. "Enough," he muttered. "No more errands. No more lists. If they want groceries, they can find a map and go get them themselves."
You leaned into Zayne's touch, your forehead resting against his chest. The sob that had started now came in waves, shaking your entire frame. You didn't have the words to explain why this one phone call felt like the breaking point, but they both seemed to understand. To them, you weren't a list of completed tasks or a reliable errand-runner. You were just you.
“I can’t do it all,” you whispered, your voice sounding small and cracked. “I feel like if I stop moving for even one hour, I’m failing everyone. I’m just… a tool to them. A way to get things done.”
Zayne’s hand moved from your back to the nape of your neck, his fingers cool and steady. He didn't tell you that you were overreacting. He didn't tell you that your parents probably loved you in their own way. He simply held you, providing a physical anchor while you drifted in a sea of exhaustion. “You are not a tool,” he said firmly. “And your value is not measured by how many errands you can run in a day.”
Sylus let out a short, sharp breath. He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around both of you, pulling you into a tight, protective hold. He smelled like expensive cologne and old books, a scent that always felt like safety to you. “Exactly,” Sylus added, his voice humming against your ear. “If they can only see you as a convenience, then they don't deserve your time right now. You’ve spent ten hours today being productive for other people. For the next ten, you are going to be completely useless. And we are going to make sure of it.”
You let out a weak, watery laugh, the sound muffled by Sylus’s shirt. The tension in your chest loosened slightly. For the first time since you had woken up that morning, the crushing weight of expectation felt a little lighter. You didn't have to be the "perfect daughter" or the "reliable employee" here. In this living room, surrounded by these two, you were allowed to be tired.
Zayne gently guided you toward the living room, his hand never leaving your shoulder. He didn't let you sit on the edge of the couch; he practically steered you into the center of the cushions, where a few plush pillows were already waiting. Sylus moved with a sudden burst of energy, disappearing for a moment only to return with a heavy, oversized blanket. He tossed it over you with a flourish, tucking the edges around your legs until you were essentially a human burrito.
"Stay," Sylus commanded, though he was smiling. "Any attempt to stand up will be met with a firm refusal."
Zayne disappeared into the kitchen, returning shortly with a glass of water and a small plate of sliced fruit. He set them on the coffee table within your reach, his eyes scanning your face to make sure you were actually hydrating. "Eat. Slowly," he instructed. As you took a small piece of apple, you realized how long it had been since you'd actually tasted anything. The sweetness was sharp and refreshing, cutting through the lingering bitterness of the phone call.
For a while, no one spoke. The only sound was the soft hum of the air conditioner and the distant noise of traffic outside. You watched the two of them—Zayne, who was now sitting on the edge of the coffee table, and Sylus, who had claimed the other end of the couch, his arm draped across the backrest. They didn't try to fill the silence with useless chatter or forced cheerfulness. They just existed there with you, creating a wall between you and the rest of the world.

Sorry that I wasn't answering any requests but I'm in the last week of my semester of college, and it's been a pain since I have to do an entire animation until Thursday evening 🫠
I can't wait for this semester to end and have 3 months of peace (well, beside having to take one exam on the 14th again)
I wanted to check with you first before requesting because I just thought of more poly ships x reader I want to request! Please tell me if I can't request any of it! Thanks!

I had this idea where out of everyone, Jinwoo showed the reader his soldiers first since they're the second closest to him besides his family. To the point where the reader and the shadows have casual interactions. To the shadows, they're someone very dear to their liege, someone who they don't need to hide from.
Overall, the relationship between reader and Jinwoo is platonic, very close friends.

You were enjoying one of the few quiet days between college classes and exams. With plenty of free time on your hands, you decided to pick up one of the books you had bought a long time ago and finally finish it.
You sat on your bed for well over an hour, lost in the world of the book, and didn’t hear Jinwoo come in. You never did.
“You’re really into that book,” he said softly.
You jumped, nearly dropping it. “Jinwoo! You can’t just appear like that.”
He winced. “Sorry, I knocked.”
“You did not.”
He didn’t even try to argue. He simply stepped farther into the room, watching you sprawled on the bed with your head against the pillow. Something in his expression softened, as if he were relieved to see you resting for once.
“You look comfortable,” he said.
“I was,” you muttered, slipping the bookmark to make sure you don’t forget where you’d left off. “What’s up?”
He hesitated, which was very rare. He never did that unless it was something important.
“I want to show you something,” he said after a few seconds of staring at you.
“Sounds scary,” you said, raising an eyebrow.
“It’s not,” he said. “I just... trust you. More than most people.”
That made you sit up from your reclined position. Jinwoo wasn’t dramatic, and he never said things unless he meant them.
“Okay,” you said, tilting your head. “Show me.”
He exhaled before taking a step back, just enough for the darkness around him to shift.
Shadows thickened at his feet, gathering on the floor.
You froze. “Jinwoo...?”
“It’s alright,” he said gently. “They won’t hurt you.”
They?
Before you could ask, the shadow nearest him rose and took shape until a tall, armored figure knelt on one knee, head bowed.
“This is Igris,” Jinwoo said, his voice steady as he watched your reaction. “He’s... one of mine.”
“One of...?” You swallowed. “Jinwoo, what is he?”
“A shadow,” he said simply. “My shadow.”
You stared. “Are they... alive?”
“In their own way,” Jinwoo said. “They’re intelligent. Loyal. And they’ve known about you for a while.”
You tore your gaze away from the shadows to look at him. “Why?”
He met your eyes, his expression softening.
“They know you mean a lot to me,” he said softly.
Your breath caught, not from fear, but from the weight of the honesty in his voice.
You looked back at the shadows, who were watching you with strange, almost gentle attentiveness.
“...Do I say hi?” you whispered.
Jinwoo actually laughed, quiet and warm, the kind of laugh he only ever let slip around you.
“Yeah,” he said. “Just... say hi.”
You lifted a hand awkwardly. “Hi.”
Igris bowed deeper, as if you’d just given a royal command.
You blinked. “Okay. That’s... a lot.”
Jinwoo stepped closer, his voice low. “If it’s too much, I can send them back.”
You shook your head. “No. It’s... weirdly not scary.”
“They like you,” he said. “They don’t do that with anyone else.”
You glanced at him. “Because of you?”
“Because you're important to me.”
The room felt different then, still quiet and dim, but warmer somehow. It was as if the shadows themselves had settled into the space without threatening it.
You exhaled. “So... shadow soldiers, huh?”
“Mm.”
“And you decided to show them to me first.”
“Yeah.”
You let that sink in. It was a lot, but it wasn’t frightening. Not when it was him.
“...Thanks,” you said, smiling softly.
Jinwoo’s shoulders relaxed, the tension melting out of him. “I’m glad you’re not running.”
You snorted. “Please. I’ve seen your fridge. This is nothing.”
Of course, the comment did nothing but earn you a loud groan.
A few days after he first showed them to you, you were sitting at your desk, trying to finish an assignment you’d been avoiding for the past week. The room was silent except for the tapping of your keyboard and the occasional frustrated sigh you didn’t bother hiding.
You didn’t notice the temperature shift at first, that faint coolness that always came with Jinwoo’s presence. You only realized you weren’t alone when a soft clink of armor sounded behind you.
You turned slowly.
Igris stood there, perfectly still, holding out a pen you didn’t remember dropping.
“Oh,” you said, blinking. “Thanks.”
He bowed his head once, then stepped back into the corner like he’d been assigned guard duty.
You stared at him for a moment, tilting your head, before turning back to your laptop.
A few minutes later, something tugged lightly at your hoodie.
You looked down.
Iron was sitting on the floor beside your chair, staring up at you with big glowing eyes, holding your water bottle in both hands like an offering.
“...Did Jinwoo tell you to do that?” you asked.
Iron shook his head so fast his whole body wobbled.
You sighed, taking the bottle. “Thanks, I guess.”
He puffed up proudly, then scurried off to sit beside Igris, mimicking the knight’s posture with comically exaggerated seriousness.
You tried not to laugh. You failed.
When Jinwoo finally appeared in the doorway, silently, as always, he paused at the sight of his shadows stationed around your room like overprotective pets.
“They’re not bothering you, right?” he asked.
“No,” you said, glancing at Iron, who was now trying to sit perfectly still like Igris and failing miserably. “They’re... surprisingly helpful.”
Jinwoo’s expression softened, the tension in his shoulders easing. “They like being around you.”
“I noticed.”
You turned back to your screen, trying to focus, but it was hard to ignore the way Igris stood like a silent sentinel in the corner, or the way Iron kept inching closer every time you weren’t looking.
“You’re still working?” he asked.
You leaned back in your chair. “Trying.”
He glanced at the screen, then at the shadows, then back at you. “They told me you were getting frustrated.”
You blinked. “They... told you?”
Iron nodded proudly, which made you sigh.
“Great. Even my stress is public now.”
Jinwoo stepped closer, resting a hand on the back of your chair. “They weren’t worried. Just... paying attention.”
You looked at him. “And you?”
“I was checking on you,” he said. “You didn’t answer your phone.”
You reached for your phone on the desk. The screen was black. Dead battery.
“Oh,” you said. “That explains it.”
Jinwoo’s shoulders relaxed a little. “I thought something happened.”
You stared at him for a moment. “You came all the way here because I didn’t text back?”
“Yeah.”
You turned your chair toward Jinwoo fully. “I’m fine. Just... drowning in this assignment.”
He looked at the screen again, then at you. “Do you want a break?”
You shook your head. “If I stop now, I won’t start again.”
Jinwoo nodded like he understood that completely. He moved a little closer, enough that you could feel the faint coolness he always carried with him.
“I can stay,” he said. “Just until you finish.”
You didn’t expect that. “You don’t have to.”
“I know.”
Iron made a small sound, like he agreed. Igris stayed still, watching the room with quiet focus.
You sighed, but it wasn’t frustration anymore. “Fine. Stay.”
Jinwoo pulled a chair over and sat beside you, not hovering, not distracting, just there. Present. Steady.
With him next to you, the assignment didn’t feel as heavy. You typed a few more paragraphs, then finally hit save.
“Done,” you said, leaning back.
Jinwoo let out a quiet breath. “Good.”
You looked at Jinwoo. “Thanks for... all of this.”
He met your eyes, calm and sincere. “Anytime.”
"What do you want me to make for dinner?" I asked looking at him.
"Korean Fried Chicken?" he asked with soft smile.
"Of course that's what you want."

I would love to request poly ships x reader but I wanted to check with you first before requesting! Please tell me if I can't request any of it! Thanks!
Just wanted to ask! Do I DM you and send my request so that you can verify my age and see if my request is acceptable? In case I accidentally missed something in your rules. I do check but I miss small mistakes more often because everyday is just tiring 😅 Thanks!
Yes, please do message me before so I can verify your age. Also I made a different post, where I have different Contents & Themes I'm okay with writing, but if something isn't in it, you can always ask in messages too
I have several questions about your rules! Thanks in advance!
Do you do scenarios, oneshots, or headcanons?
If so, how many characters can we request for scenarios or headcanons?
Would you accept vague requests?
Would you accept overly specific requests?
Would you accept smut, hurt/comfort, fluff, and angst with a happy ending requests?
How many requests can I send at once?
Would you do the same prompt with different characters?
Can we request for male reader, female reader, gender neutral reader, etc?
Are there any characters you won't do in each fandom?
Can we request characters from different fandoms in a request?
Are there any topics you won't do like rape, suicide, etc?
Do you do poly ships x reader?
Would you mind if we request for Alternate Universes or Aus like AU where the character lives happily?
Would you mind if the request is suggestive, implied sex, or mentioned sex but no explicit sex?
Can we request Dom/sub, creampie, bondage, cunnilingus, spanking, finger fucking, size kink, deepthroating, threesome, virginity loss, squirting, nipple play, praise kink, shibari, voice kink, breeding kink, overstimulation, body worship, crossdressing, coming in pants/underwear, and lingerie? I don't want to request anything that might make you uncomfortable!
For Love and Deepspace requests, can we request non mc reader?
What kinks would you accept for requests?
Can anons request smut?
Can we check with you if you received our requests?
Here you have answers to all of the questions
1. Do you do scenarios, oneshots, or headcanons?
I'm fine with doing both scenarios and oneshots. I'm not sure about headcanons cause I never really tried to write any and don't often read them
2. If so, how many characters can we request for scenarios or headcanons?
I'm fine with however many characters you want to, but just so you know each character would be written in a separate post - at the top would be a navigation to each character
3. Would you accept vague requests?
I'm fine with vague requests
4. Would you accept overly specific requests?
I'm also fine with overly specific requests
