Sometimes, you're wrong

If it took them 4 proposals to finally get engaged, then how many weddings will it take for them to get married?

- Kensi having this “oh shit” moment while talking with Nell, and deciding in that split second that she has to propose right now

- Kensi using the ring from a flashbang to do it

- Kensi saying, “Martin Deeks, will you marry me.”

- Deeks reminding her that he’s actually proposed 3 times already.

- Nell watching the whole thing (and not interrupting) and smiling about it all.

- Both of them saying ”I love you” before he even responds.

- Deeks’s answer - “Yes…absolutely.  What the hell?  Yes.”

- Them hugging for a long time.

- “You know me, I’m more bang than bling”

I know most of the LA writers will write DENSI post-engagement and/or wedding fics, but I want to see an “Aunt” Kensi story where Kensi helps Kamran, Aiden, or both cope with their grief. Kensi knows exactly how it feels to lose a parent in a violent manner at their ages. Kensi @15 was only 3 years older than Kamran is now @12 and only 2 years younger than Aiden is now @17 when Donald Blye died.

Maybe Kamran is struggling and despite Sam’s best efforts he can’t get through to her. So he asks Kensi to help, figuring Kam might open up to a woman that she looks up to. Kensi agrees and sets up a “girls weekend” in hopes that Kam will be able to get her mind off her grief for her mother at least for a while. Kam sleeps over on Friday night and they watch chick ficks, do each other’s nails, talk about boys, eat junk food, etc. Then they go to a spa on Saturday and even invite Nell or Kensi takes her shooting @ Camp Pendleton (with Sam’s permission of course) suggesting that Kam might find shooting relaxing like she does.

Now for a headcannon time. In S5 after Impact and especially after Frozen Lake while Kensi was away, Deeks & Sam got closer and Michelle probably had Sam invite him to dinners so they could keep an eye on him. Deeks & Kam likely bonded over these dinners (Aiden too when he was home on break from school) and he eventually earned the title of “Uncle” Marty like Callen is “Uncle” Callen. As for Kensi, we know her & Deeks babysat at least once and probably a few times. In S4 even though she was warming up to kids, I still wouldn’t expect her to get too close with Sam’s kids at that point. Then in S5 she was gone a lot in Afghanistan & her return her PTSD probably leave much time to bond with kids. After DENSI found out they no longer had to hide their relationship from the team in Fighting Shadows in S6, any time after that Deeks spent time at the Hanna’s Kensi started going too. I think Kam saw them kiss and go “all in” in Humbug, so after she realized that her father was OK with DENSI and Kensi started comeing over with “Uncle” Marty she probably asked if Kensi minded being called “Aunt” Kensi. And Kensi realized she was OK with it. I also like to think Nell & Eric earned the honorary titles of Aunt & Uncle respectfully, especially since Cancel Christmas indicated that Sam started inviting the team to holiday meals. But I digress.
