So this looks like a first draft character design. The note here says “Hazel as a bull terrier suggested by Nat” (Natalie?), so I’m taking this as a clue in that it was Natalie who suggested Hazel’s breed.

I understand it’s originally a kids show but kids would notice this too. The writing in this show is abysmal and it’s an odd contrast to the creativity of the team and world. We need to relate to the main character and you just can’t do that if you don’t see where the character is coming from, what their values are, any of their past, something. With Hazel’s main motivations being running away from home AND going back home in every episode you would think they’d give us a crumb of information about said home, family, anything.

Episode 9, “Dino Dad’s Day”

New episode great. This one is about Hazel and Mac running into a group/family of dinosaurs it seems, and they’re all celebrating their version of Father’s Day. They find a kid who’s not feeling it, and convince the kid otherwise.

I have thought about it actually. Started already, my oc would be a holstein cow. Not sure what his name would be yet, but I was thinking he could be a delivery driver, sort of exploring all corners of the world that way. His spots are jagged shaped as oppose to the more sort of soft shapes you see on cow print. He drives around in those trucks with the open door way. He has blue/grey eyes. Like me. :)

Misc things from Episode 4, “Misfit MouseTrap”

Blue I suppose is a parallel to Hazel. She also runs away, deeper into the “pitch woods”, and Hazel is tasked by her family to help find her. According to the episode description Hazel sees some scary stuff before finally finding Blue, the two agreeing they need to go back home.
