Later that night I talked to another girl that was sitting behind me and she had also only read the first book and was moving on to ACOMAF. She asked me if it was worth continuing and I said that I think the series is overhyped but worth at least an attempt in reading. In a world where we need more media literacy, I’m NOT going to tell someone not to read.

For both of them I explained where I lay in the fandom (basically a minority, Nesta defender until I die, basically hate all but three characters) and they were very open to listening and were very sweet. I tried to give them some heads up, basically saying to go into it with an open mind and remember that 1st POV is always an unreliable narrative, but also didn’t want to make them bias when continuing. I want them to still think for themselves, it’s always important to do that when reading.

The craziest part was that apparently the first lady I talked to was not only an author, but actually THE guest author of the night and I got a signed copy from her! 🥹

I do wish that I talked to some people that read all of the books so that I could have a debate, but I love that I kind of guided someone. I’m actually friends with one of the ladies on Facebook so that she can text me as she reads with any thoughts or questions (I really hope she does)

I hope the lady that ran it will do more ACOTAR nights for each book, then maybe I can come home with juicy details 🫣🤭
