A cough followed by another. Her hand rested on the doorknob before Rain carefully opened the door.
The room before her was dark and sparsely furnished, just enough to call it a hiding place. Her gaze wandered around and when she saw the motionless body next to her, she froze.
In front of her, on the floor, lay her beloved Touya – unconscious, bleeding, covered with makeshift bandages.
“Touya!?” she cried desperately and fell down next to him. She reached for his neck and felt his pulse, which throbbed faintly beneath her finger.
She looked around desperately for a first aid kit or something similar, but found only a sofa, a table, and an old refrigerator.
"Shit..." She grabbed her smartphone and sent a message to Kaji.
Rain: Help, bring a first aid kit. Coordinates coming soon.
Without waiting for an answer, she stepped behind Dabi, wrapped her arms around his chest, and tried to pull him toward the sofa. However, Rain was significantly shorter than him and not as muscular, so she could only move him with great difficulty.
Kaji sat on the windowsill in his room, his black wings hanging limply behind him, touching the ground. His eyes were tired, his mind almost empty as he looked at the city below.
But suddenly, the ringing of his smartphone broke the silence. Almost in slow motion, he reached for it and his gaze slid over the message.
Rain: Help, bring a first aid kit. Coordinates coming soon.
His body shot up, his wings tensed behind him, and his gaze became piercingly sharp.
His mother rarely asked him for help, which means it must be serious. He rushed to his parents' bedroom because he knew there was a first aid kit under their bed, grabbed it, and rushed out the balcony door.
The next moment he was in the air, flying as fast as he could to his mother.
As he approached his destination, he saw Rain standing in front of a heavy metal door of a building. Despite his hectic pace, he landed elegantly next to her, his wings folding behind him and twitching nervously.
Rain just nodded and took the box from him.
"Your father is injured and unconscious. He urgently needs help."
Kaji froze for a moment, watching Rain as she was swallowed by the building. It took a few seconds for him to follow her into the heart.
Arriving in a dimly lit room, he saw his mother tending to Dabi's wounds. He had seen his father wounded many times, but never so badly, and certainly not unconscious.
"What happened?" His voice was quieter, almost shocked quiet.
Rain just shrugged as she carefully removed the old bandages and dabbed away the dried blood.
"I don't know, Kaji. I found him exactly as you see him."
OOC: I don't know if I'm allowed to reblog with both accounts. I'm afraid that counts as pushing, so I'll do it that way.
