vice city

danbi is, by no means, a familiar face at solace, but she does find herself hanging out here on occasion— mostly at the invitation of her friends. today was one of those days. a friend of a friend was celebrating her birthday here, and danbi was invited, so she definitely wasn’t going to miss out on the opportunity to mingle with people. although she’s slightly regretting that decision now, because she’s managed to lose her way in the club. she could still hear the vague thumping bass reverberating through the walls, but it definitely wasn’t helping her find her way back, and all the walls around her seem to be caving in on her. that tequila shot she downed is really working its magic. hell, she doesn’t even know how she got here. mentally cussing herself out for giving in to temptation and taking that shot even though she knew it would definitely get to her, she surveys her foreign surroundings in an attempt to find her way back to the dance floor.
in true danbi fashion, all she wanted to do was go to the toilet, but a couple of wrong turns later and she finds herself stumbling upon a hallway of doors, without so much as an inkling of where she actually is. she always wanted to be like one of those girls from the fairytales her mother used to read her, but now she’s feeling like alice in wonderland when she found herself in the long hall with all the doors, and danbi is really not liking it. for a moment, she considers that maybe one of these doors lead back to where she came from. although it seems unlikely, danbi decides to try anyway. just as she reaches out to open a door, she feels a tight grip on her forearm. when she turns around, she comes face-to-face with a man that is standing too close for comfort, partly because she could smell the foul aftermath of alcohol in the back of his throat. his gruff voice breaks the silence, “you work in the vip rooms, right? how much for a night?”
what does that even mean? this place has vip rooms? do these doors lead to the vip rooms? there are way too many questions running through her mind. even sober danbi wouldn’t be able to deal with so many unanswered questions, much less tipsy danbi. eyebrows furrowing in confusion, she scans the man from head to toe and reckons that he’s probably just another person at the club who had a drop too much to drink. with a polite smile plastered across her face — coming quite naturally after having practiced it all her life — she twists her arm to pull it out of his grasp. “you must be lost too, huh? this place is really confusing.”
her actions are only met with the man tightening his clutch on her arm, and dread begins to swirl in danbi’s gut. this situation was starting to feel... not right.
