Australian Geographic (print) is $1/word generally for features. Shorter stories may be more of a an agreed flat rate. Website is around 50-60c/word, depending on experience. Payment is in a two-week cycle if you're already set up in the Bauer Media system.
VICE pays $80 per piece for new, inexperienced writers. And generally $120-$170 for everyone else. If a writer has a profile it's negotiated individually and can be more. Articles tend to be 600-800 words.
