ive started writing poems and i actually like them

honestly though thank God for Lemony Snicket teaching me to be a skeptical and responsible consumer of media when i was 11-13 and obsessed with the ASOUE series

you know what while im at it: thank you to the ASOUE series for telling me adults were often wrong or selfish or abusive, that i didn’t have to be thankful for things not being worse, the importance of choices and reading good books and researching things instead of passively accepting what i was told. thank you for teaching me to know my worth, to know i’m capable and could rely on my courage and ingenuity to get me and my younger siblings through hard times
