Lon Chaney Sr., “the Man of a Thousand Faces”, in the MGM/Tod Browning silent horror movie London After Midnight (aka: The Hypnotist), 1927. A lost film, the last surviving copy of the movie was destroyed in the MGM vault fire of 1967. Turner Classic Movies, in conjunction with restoration producer Rick Schmidlin, recreated the movie using still photographs in 2002, providing a glimpse at what this lost masterpiece once looked like on screen. London After Midnight was re-made by Tod Browning as Mark of the Vampire in 1935.
