I’m the least controversial person on the planet and yet, I was met with this staggering question... “What if our hands aren’t the only thing that need cleansing?” . I nervously responded in prayer, “Oof. Lord, that kinda stings... I’m gonna need you to elaborate a bit more if you want me to address this publicly.” . Here’s the deal: We all feel this undeniable urge to clean. We’re washing our hands insistently, decluttering our homes with gusto and disinfecting household surfaces. We’re combating an invisible enemy. We’re at war against a merciless virus to which no one is immune. We’re fighting a physical war friends but a war still is waged within us. A spiritual war, fought, not with flesh and blood but against the enemy of our souls... No amount of Lysol and soap can remove the dingy filth of sin. Thankfully there is a cure for the internal disease that plagues us all. Jesus. He cleanses all impurities better than any sanitizer on the market. He sanctifies us. If only we would let him. Sweet sisters, lets focus on not only on cleansing our hands to prevent catching illnesses, but to also come before the throne of grace and allow God to cleanse our hearts and purify our souls. PRAYER: Gracious and Heavenly Father, purify our hearts and purge what is not pleasing to you. It’s your loving kindness that leads us to repentance. Forgive us of our sin. Please cleanse us of all impurity, help us when we stray and guide us to your tender mercy today. Amen. So repent and return to God, so that your sins may be wiped away, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord and that he may send you Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed to you. - Acts 3:19-20 . If we freely admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive your sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned we make him a liar and his word is not in us. - 1 John 1:9-10 . Repentance starts with the conviction of the Holy Spirit. You get this icky inner feeling that makes you feel bad about something you’ve said or done. This feeling is telling us we have messed up with the Lord. Go to the Lord immediately and confess that you have disobeyed what you know God expects of you. Ask him to forgive and cleanse you from this sin. Then repent and make up your mind to walk in love going forward. That is repentance. God will immediately put this sin under the blood of Jesus where it is erased forever and not remembered by Him. . Pray this with me, Heavenly Father, I confess that I have sinned. I acknowledge that this sin is against what your word says and therefore I repent of it right now in Jesus name! I come to your throne of grace and ask forgiveness for this sin. I place this sin on the alter and ask that the blood of Jesus be applied to this sin. Help me father God to gain the victory in this area of my life in Jesus name! I ask that you give me the unction of the Holy Spirit before I say or do anything that would offend or grieve you. The world isn’t backing down in silence with fear that they may offend others with their agenda, so why is it that we as the Church have become silent in fear that we will offend others? . Being exposed to things that contradict the Word of God shouldn't move us to adapt and follow. It should provoke us to stand and challenge. With the world we live in today, we must love without sacrificing our boldness. . So stand tall. Maturity in the Word of God requires action. You must live your life by it, make your decisions through it, and stand up for it even when you have to stand by yourself. Don't forget, you're never truly alone. 📝 - @speerandarrows ⇠ follow! Hello, sweet sisters. Let’s have a moment of transparency. This is what being where my feet are at looks like lately... Have things been challenging? For sure. Do I feel overwhelmed? Ugh yup. Are there moments that fear and uncertainty take over? Fairly often. Is my faith shaken? Nope. Is God still on the throne? Yes! Can He handle my burdens? 100%. Do I trust Him? Most of the time. And guess what? When I feel uncertain, I ask Him to help me with my unbelief and get this: He does! Here’s the deal: I believe that God is good all the time. I also believe that when sin entered the world, all hell broke loose. Literally. (Read Genesis 3) The good news is, as believers saved by grace, through faith, this earth is the only taste of hell we’ll ever know. (Read Ephesians 2:8-9) . The blunt and beautiful truth is we’re not promised sunshine and the American Dream. The Bible never promised us health, wealth, and prosperity. We’re promised something so much better: eternity with God. (John 3:16) . The hope we have in Him is what sustains me through long and weary days. This is where I find His strength, in my weakness. So here we are, intertwined in the already but not yet. This is the beautiful tension we get to live in friends. This is what being where my feet are at looks like lately...
