Being an evil supergenius is not an easy task. Being one whose primary occupation is designing other supervillains is even more taxing, no matter how prodigious one's creative imagination may be. Sometimes, taking someone else's existing concept, filing the serial numbers off of it and giving it a fresh coat of paint is the most time-efficient way to progress.
And so, Gabriel Agreste found himself dipping into the world of fictional superheroes on a fairly frequent basis. It had become a cause of massive embarrassment on a few occasions; Nathalie's deadpan response of "No, Sir. I did not just catch you reading comic books in your office" still haunted his memory from time to time. The potential benefits, however, were worth those occasional missteps.
These tawdry little tales bore me for the most part, Gabriel mused to himself on one particular morning, while browsing the Internet for tidbits of hero and villain lore.
