1) if you want to choose your booths, GO EARLY. They only open the doors and let you set up at 11-1115 (this may change) but people may start queueing as early as 10am. Kiasu, I know. But if you don’t want to lose out, will suggest that reaching at 1045 seems like a decent choice

2) you wouldn’t be able to earn much unless you have truckloads of clothes. You can’t sell your clothes at $10. People who go to fleas have budget and usually they prices they look for per piece is probably $5 maximum unless your items are super super super premium! Also people tend to flock to booths with heaps of clothes!

3) the rental is ridiculously high since 2014. $100 for Saturday and $130 for Sunday! It was around $50-60 in 2013. So I suggest if you don’t have a lot to sell, find at least 1 friend to share with you. The booth available, however, doesn’t have much space. If you share with maybe 3 other friends, you may have to squeeze a bit.

4) prices of clothes are bound to drop every hour. Usually it starts with $5 per piece, and it will drop to $1 at 4-5pm when everyone is frantically trying their best to clear and not bring any back. Of course there will be some people who believe that their clothes aren’t worth a few bucks.

5) It can get frustrating when buyers want to bargain a $50 dress for $2. Keep in mind that buyers really have a budget and you just have try to be understanding

6) grab bags are a great idea to clear quickly!

7) it is super dusty there, my nose will get red and sneezy after an hour. Some will prepare masks to combat the dust clouds. Just a heads up for you if you have allergies!

8) prepare some snacks or drinks before you start selling. You might get pretty busy and can’t leave your booth during lunch.

9) recee the place before you go. This is important because you need to know at least where you are going!

So, I went to two fleas yesterday (21 March 2015, Saturday). It was an awesome trip, I got a lot of good items. Here goes -

1) Forfleasake at Lucky Plaza Level 6 (link)

It was dusty (as usual). You really have to tolerate the dust and the crowd to dig for good stuff! I went there after lunch, about 130-2pm? It opens at 11-1130am. I am glad I decided to go slightly earlier this time. I went there a few times in late afternoon (roughly 4pm) when prices were much much lower, like $2-$1. Prices dropped drastically every hour but if you want to get better pieces, it's better to reach there slightly earlier!

Here is what I have bought (I try to get online modelled photos, if possible):

- Forever 21 zigzag skater dress $4

- Love and Bravery (LAB) top $4 (first photo)

-  Lovebonito (LB) pleated spaghetti crop grey top $5

- White textured babydoll top (saw it on some blogshops before) $5 (second photo)

- Abercrombie & Fitch eyelet lace white dress $5

2) Traitorsflea at Tripleone Somerset Level 16 (link)

It is a new flea event organiser and I wanted to take a look and see how they fare. The place is really spacious, unlike the other one. I think Three Blind Mice (another event organiser) had a flea there too a while ago! But this event has much lesser crowd and lesser vendors (which could explain why they have been amending the dates). The outreach could have been done better! Feel kind of bad for the vendors who are having a hard time clearing their stuff.

So here are what's in my bag -

- Montifs floral romper (similar to what Bugis/TEM/miyoc usually carries)

- Floral spaghetti top (similar to what Bugis/TEM/miyoc usually carries)

- Forever 21 strappy blue dress

- Cotton on spaghetti top

- Polka dot bodycon knit skirt

- Black & white crop top, looks like the third photo above!(similar to what Bugis/TEM/miyoc usually carries)

I got all these for $18 from the same vendor. They were really generous and really could give massive discounts for their clothes which are brand new/worn 1-2 times. I could have bought more from them if I didn't buy some from the previous flea!

All in all, my total damage: $41
