So Tumblr strikes again but thankfully the skilled coders on this site has cleaned up Tumblr’s mess... Once again. 

Submitted by Mel, here is an in-depth tutorial on how to make posts editable again. It will require you to have the new xkit, however, but I think it’s a great tool to help roleplayers keep up with all the changes while being able to continue writing comfortably.

In case you haven’t gotten the update, with the new update, it is now close to impossible to cut down posts. This serves as a really big inconvenience to roleplaying on this platform but have no fear. Some people have found ways around this. 

1. This first method does not require you to install anything. It’s called the Copy and Paste method. If you are replying to a para or a thread that has no images (gifs, icons, gif icons) then this is sufficient. You still technically can’t put an image along with a blockquote so if you’re replying a gif thread, this method will not work. 

2. The second method requires you to install an extension to your browser Tampermonkey and a script. I don’t have a name for this other than the installing an extension and a script method. I have tried it myself and it works wonderfully. You don’t even have to click the big X button to delete a gif. You can just highlight everything and backspace. This may or may not be exclusive to Chrome.

3. The third method is untested by me but I’ve heard that it works so proceed with caution, please. It requires you to install the new X-Kit extension and it is available for Chrome and Firefox. It’s called the I heard it works for a friend so maybe it’ll work for you method. The link is just a link to the main blog, but in the description are links to the firefox and chrome extension links. From there just install Editable Reblogs and you should be good.

I hope this was semi-helpful for you guys. If worse comes to worst just let the posts grow to about 4 visible replies then make a new post. It sounds tedious but trust me, nobody wins when there is a post with 10 blockquotes crammed into it. Nobody wins.

We have monitored many talks and debates concerning the Post-Human situation right here in New York. The Post-human Identification Tattoos (PIT) are too demeaning. Too brutal. And on top of it all unnecessary. As the ones who made the serum to temporarily nullify abilities so the tattoos could be administrated by our good friends at PROTECT, we agree with all these sentiments. 

That’s why we and many other politicians are urging for the removal of the PIT and move towards something that doesn’t treat people like branded cattle. That’s where the bracelets come in. Though they are unnamed right now due to their premature release, we have worked through the prototypes and have begun making models that are fit for public circulation. 

What are these bracelets you ask?

This is a band that will act as a phone. For those who are not afraid of wearable technology, this is the future. With the built in projector on this thing you can project a phone screen onto your arm and use it as you would with any other touch screen. Phone calls and listening to music will require external headphones and bluetooths if you don’t prefer the speakers.

Now how does this tie into the post-human situation? 

Simple. These are made specifically with post-humans in mind. For those who are already registered and have the PIT, we will begin removing them and giving you a bracelet instead. For those who are not registered but wish to do so soon, you too will get a bracelet. Each of these bracelets are designed to be accessible to the owner that they are registered to only. If you are not a registered post-human, the bracelet will not turn on for you.

As with the PIT, this bracelet will also monitor your heart rate. Seeing as how the constant monitoring from the PITs factors into the dehumanizing aspect, post-humans will not be forced to wear these at all times. ( We will take this time to mention that they are waterproof so you can wear them all the time if you want to. ) If the bracelets ever pick up a distress signal showing that you may be at risk, a representative will call you through the bracelet. But the point is to put post-humans themselves in control and make them responsible for their own abilities. 

Since this news is coming out much earlier than intended, we hope that this will urge those to vote in favor of the policy that will free you of being branded and put under surveillance. The future is here and we are here to help you become empowered.“

Being called unholy is a bad thing?

Background: 

Felix became known as the girl who got an exorcism at six months when she was supposed to get baptized. The pastor had tried to put holy water on the baby’s head to no avail, so he decided that it was because she was possessed by a demon. But no one realized that Felix’s innate ability to keep the holy water off of her wasn’t the work of any devil, but of herself and her post-human ability.

Felix’s childhood following that event was as normal as a girl who was post human’s life could be in a town where everyone knew her as the baby who got exorcized at her baptism. She was someone to be stared and pointed out in town. Her parents weren’t any better, treating their daughter like a ticking time bomb. It was only when she was five did she realize what she was capable of. She was able to move the water in her cup, make it float in the air and take shapes if she concentrated hard enough. The more she practiced with it, the more in tune she felt with water. She felt connected to it. Then the first time she was able to go in a body of water at the community pool, she realized how much power and control she had. After that, the rest of her childhood was somewhat of a battle between her and her parents. By the time she got to middle school, they were slowly giving up on her. She was getting better with her powers, still not understanding why she could do what she did or that she wasn’t alone. She still did well in school, not for her parents but for herself, she liked to learn and understand how things worked in the world. She wanted to understand why she was the way she was, too.

Felix heard about a post-human group basing itself in New York when she was 18 and decided to apply to colleges there. Her parents agreed to pay for it, grabbing at any chance to get Felix far, far away from them. She was accepted into Columbia University and decided to major biochemistry out of her love of science in general and to satisfy the curiosity she had about what made her post-human. From what she knew of her family history, no one else could do this or if they could, they kept it a secret like her. While in college, she got to be freer with her sexuality as well. No one knew her there, so no one could tell her family. She could date girls, meet people who weren’t all about religion, and felt like she could breathe. She had gone to New York for the post-human group rumors, but throughout her four years at college, she hadn’t tried to find them. Even in New York, post-humans weren’t accepted, and if she were to be found out by trying to join their group, she’d lose the little piece of happiness she created for herself and she’d be putting herself in danger.

Significant Event in Life: 

It was the summer after she graduated from college and she was staying with her parents for a week. Everything had been going fine; until her mom saw her phone wallpaper was of her and her current girlfriend kissing. Before she could even ask her mother what was wrong when she stormed up, her mother slapped her so hard she was knocked to the ground. Her ears had started ringing, only catching her mother saying she would go hell. The only thing she could think to do was protect herself. She knew they had pool outside and could feel the water within it. She yanked the water forward in a giant wave, making it crash through the windows and backyard door. Her mother was knocked to the floor and Felix had been soaked through as well, but only when she heard her mother coughing up the water did she realize the full impact of her actions. She scrambled to her feet and sped out of the house, not looking back until she was out of the neighborhood. She knew she only had one place left to go and that was PROTECT.

How do you think your OC will fit into the plot: Felix had a degree in biochemistry, so she can be a scientist and help with biology related things, especially with post-humans. She knows some medical information, involving drugs and which do what, but she can’t actually make them. She also has had a lot of practice with her hydrokinesis and has a fair degree of control of it and water, so she is capable of using it to defend herself if necessary.

Briefly write about their character’s views on the three factions (PROTECT, Nexus, Rogues):

Protect: Felix thinks highly of PROTECT, though she minds all the rules sometimes, not being the best rule follower. She’s glad she’s apart of it, though, because she feels safe there and like she’s doing some good. She’s just not as friendly or close to anyone there.

Nexus: She hates Nexus. She finds the corporation to be like one of those pray the gay away camps, trying to “purify” the human race of post-humans like those camps tried to purify society of gay people. She knows some post-humans do work for Nexus willingly, but the only way she sees that being possible is that they’re self hating and trying to right the wrong of their existence.

Rogues: Felix knows that she probably shouldn’t root for or admire the Rogues, but she does. She understands the hatred of their oppressors and the want of taking up violence against them. But just because she understands it doesn’t mean she’ll do it herself. Her admiration for them comes from the fact they’re unapologetic about who they are and what they do.

Drugs aren’t the future of medicine — tiny electric implants are

There has been many fundings for different ways to control one’s post-human abilities. Fundings for more classes, specialized doctors, and coaches but some people want a quicker approach that will give them more control. They want to be able to tame their abilities with something that’s as easy as a press of a button. Pharmaceutical companies have invested in drugs, and some have even dangerously leaked out, but simply put they haven’t produced steady results and that’s a concern. 

Bioelectronics is the wave of the future. 

Some researchers believe electronic implants that hack the nervous system will one day replace drugs for many conditions. In the early years of development we have still had little understandings of how the body’s electrical language and nervous system worked. One thing we did know that if we could learn this language, it’d unlock the doors to gaining more control of our bodies. That’s where we turned to those with Neurokinesis to help further our research.

Now imagine a pyrokinetic losing control of his temper and his hands start to flare up. On a normal basis, maybe he’ll calm down and the fire will subside. Or maybe, he continues to become enraged and loses control. Research shows that scenarios where abilities and emotions are closely linked and people lack control over the two, chances are that the latter will happen.

The doors to the expo center have opened and registered attendees are making their way in.

Event duration: From today to the end of next Wednesday. There is a possibility that the event will be extended in order to give all members an equal opportunity to participate in it. Participation is not mandatory though encouraged.

Prompts: The main will post updates if there are any announcements, speeches, and such being made during the PressCon to help things move along. After the brief prompts are posted, it’s highly suggested that the characters react to them in some way.

The first premiere expo for all Post-Human related advancements made. At the Nexus Expo ( shortened to Nexpo ) the brightest and most innovative minds will meet here in NYC for three days to share and showcase their contributions to the push for progress and empowerment for everybody. Both long time experts and first time amateur enthusiasts are all welcomed to attend. Nexus hopes this will open the door to more collaborations and innovations in the field of Post Human abilities. Nexpo will help you become empowered.

OOC Notes for characters who are attending:

NEXUS members all get free entrance to the expo. Everybody will alternate from working patrol shifts and being regular attendees with VIP access.

Attendees must be registered in order to gain access to the expo passes and wristbands. ( This is a safety measure to keep out unwanted guests. ROGUES please take note of this. If you want to get into the expo, you’re going to have to get creative. )

PROTECT members are invited to the expo as long as they have their employee IDs.

For non attendees:

For this event it is possible for characters to not attend the expo but still participate. The expo will be livestreamed so anybody can catch all the announcements and such from the comforts of their own home or from the respective headquarter locations.

Specifically for this event, Nexus has launched a big social media campaign. There will be an open post on the main that’ll act as the Nexus’ main Twitter and you can leave as many replies or reblog it with Twitter replies. ++ You may also have your own Twitter threads if you want. johanna--maxwell will be running PROTECT’s Twitter page during this time so you may tweet to her too if you want.

A most sincere apology to current members and prospective members. 

I know activity from me as the admin has been very “touch and go” since the year began. As much as real life has interfered, I should’ve still been more on top of things here and done a better job of incorporating my responsibilities of running the RPG into my every day life. I know there are people who have lost muse during this time, people who have not heard back from the main in a timely manner**, and people who have just disappeared without any notice. I do not blame anybody but myself for how activity has been so stagnant lately. I will try harder to work through this sense of anxiety of being a full time admin again. I will do better and I deeply thank everybody who is still standing by this RPG’s side and everybody who still wants to give this RPG a chance. I will keep working hard to make this RPG active and fun again.
