This film basically has Criterion written all over it.Â
The posthumous release of the final film by a relatively unknown-to-Americans Russian filmmaker sometimes considered a peer of Tarkovsky, a film that the director arguably spent his entire career working on in some form or another (he was allegedly considering it as the subject of his debut film in the 60s).Â
Beautifully shot, but also probably the most disgusting film I’ve seen. It’s on Netflix, but be warned- don’t expect to really follow the plot.

Box set design for Matthew Barney's Cremaster Cycle.
I wish. Even though it's been stated that there will never be a DVD release.
