“I can’t promise to be sober.. or to know how the fuck anything like..” She gestured between the two of them “..This works..I’m a mess..”

“I don’t either. It’s not like I do relationships. But something about you makes me want to try. So we’ll figure it out together.” 

“You really wanna know me?” Her voice shook as it raised, emotions finally seeping through. “I’m the daughter of two good for nothing junkie parents who never gave a rats ass. I grew up in a shit hole town with literally nothing. The only person I ever cared about was my sister and she was murdered. I’ve spent the past like seven years on the road shooting up and fucking boys in bands because what else am I good for. I am not some kind of magical manic pixi dream girl like you seem to think I am.”

He listened to her rant with a blank expression. “None of that scares me. None of that makes me want to run for the hills.” He said when she had finished, risking it and stepping a little closer to her. “I still think you’re beautiful. I still think you’re a good person. You’ve been through some shit. We all have. Some more than others but we all are born and we are all gonna die and we have this middle ground to just...live. And I for one wouldn’t mind spending some time with you.”

“You don’t even know me.” She tried to keep her exterior cold, her face as heartless as she could manage. 

“I want to.” He said, repeating what he always said when she said that. 

She was busted and she knew it. Her only options were run, or show herself. She chose the latter, moving around the corner and coming face to face with him. “You always were a sap.” She scoffed, trying to keep her distance 

“Only for you.” He said, honestly. He didn’t know what to say. He knew he had really messed up with her but he didn’t know how to fix it.
