as if we can't catch a break, I just spent a week in the hospital almost dying from a really serious infection (I was septic). BUT since I didn't die, y'all are stuck with me and my Henry!! there has been lots of cuddles and sleeping. he's a bit stressed still and chewed a hot spot into his tail but he's happy now that everything is somewhat normal. I'll be out of commission for a few weeks still but that gives me more time for watching cute puppy videos with my puppy 😍

I’m the worst but Saturday was Henry’s 3rd birthday!!! We were in the hospital most of the day but we stopped on the way home to grab a toy and four bags of treats!!! Here is a little collage of him as a puppy to now!!! I love him so much - he is suchhhh a great dog who is unlike any dog I’ve ever met!! His bond with my daughter is amazing and he absolutely loves her. I couldn’t ask for a better dog. He may be a service dog drop out but I wouldn’t have it any other way. He has helped her so much in his short time here. In the hospital, she cried so much because she missed him! I hope one day I have much more time to dedicate to training and helping with his anxiety. We’ve been in the hospital 6 or 7 times since November, with one of them being an eight day stay. His separation anxiety is getting worse but we will work on that! Thank you all for being a part of his journey! You guys are the absolute best and I promise I’ll blog more. I haven’t kept updated with anyone lately but share in the comments how you and your dog have been doing! I miss you guys!!

@alyssterinec She's been fighting a GI bug since her 2nd surgery and it's taking a toll on her body. She was in the hospital twice since then and we just got home yesterday from our last stay! She did test positive for C. Diff so at least we know how to treat it. It's been hell but I think we are moving in the right direction. Thank you for asking!!

One time about a year ago, we’d only had Jake about 9 months, we took a day trip, left him at home, and the next day he wouldn’t play with his ball outside, his eating was off (and its never off!), this went on for another day or so, we took him to the vet, nothing wrong, I truly think he was afraid we were going to leave him again. Jake is a very anxious doggie too, maybe not as much as Henry, but he does not like to be left behind, he is very sensitive to voices, if people in the house seem to be having a disagreement and voices get raised slightly, he will cower in a corner or nearly hide under a table (ok, that only happened once a few months after we got him, but it showed us right away his sensitive nature.) Seriously still, if I’m having a slightly raised voice conversation with the hubby, Jake’s ears will start to go down and he looks sooooo scared! And we immediately stop what we’re doing and go soothe the doggie! Poor Henry is probably so afraid you will leave him again. You must promise your adorable little furry barnacle you will never leave him again, lol!

awwwww!!!! Poor Jake! It's funny because every year, I take about two trips to visit family in NJ. I usually stay 2ish weeks on average. He is always fine when I come home lol. He probably mentally prepares himself when he sees me packing my bags. This last time, no bags were packed and he had no clue we weren't coming home. Poor doggy :(
