Just a bit? [She laughed, shaking her head. ] Well that’s one way to look at it I suppose. Though out of curiosity, how did you wind up soaked to the bone? [ she was teasing of course.]

Well, the streets aren't completely submerged yet. [He smiled, half-heartedly.] Forgot my umbrella. Stupid of me, really, but I've been so busy as of late that it completely slipped my mind.

[Kat was going stir crazy. It had been raining all day, and she had been cooped up inside because of it - after all, she couldn’t go for her run. She’d cleaned her flat top to bottom, and made some baked goods before she finally grabbed a book and went down to the lobby, hoping that the more open spaces would help her feeling slightly claustrophobic. Peter had been busy, and she didn’t want to disturb him. She was a few chapters in and she heard the door open. Looking over she saw Hal… She hadn’t talked to him in a while. Closing her book she stood up, a smile on her face. ] Wet out there?

[He had, still miffed, shoved the papers back into his pocket. When he heard a voice he recognized, he followed it until his gaze fell upon Kat's face.] Just a bit. Might be a nice day for a swim, though.

[Seph had been lounging around the lobby as she watched the rain from her claimed window seat with her sketchpad on her lap. She had seen the man rushing through the rain and found amusement at it. Raking her eyes from his head to toe she took his figure to memory, ideas for designs suitable for this soaking man jumping around her head.] Well, fine London day isn’t it? Couldn’t afford to be sick though, especially for a man such as yourself. [She gave him a Cheshire grin from her place.]

[He was looking at the pages of his script, trying to make out if there was anything he could still read, when he heard the voice sound from across the lobby. Hal looked up and laughed, albeit a bit bitterly, at the statement. He'd been under a lot of stress the past few weeks with opening night approaching, so he wasn't in the best mood. Annoyed,] A fine day for a fish, maybe. [He sighed.] I don't have the time to be sick, you're right, though I suppose whether or not I get sick isn't just up to my sheer willpower not to be.

It had a been a mediocre day for Kate. She might have worked herself to the very edge of okay, but nonetheless she was fine. The studio had been quiet, even more so than it usually was. There was a small air of tension, however, with auditions approaching. She was bit more tired than she usually was, considering how accustomed she was to the lengthy schedules she brought on herself. It had just been a long day, and she had a lot on her mind. She had to clear her mind for rehearsal, hence why she had come home so late. Dancing consumed her that way. Things would fall away as she heard the music, and focused on perfecting every move, extending every line, and always keeping her toes pointed. Needless to say, she was glad to be back at the Globe. She wanted to see Hal before schedules became even more hectic. Kate knew that he was in rehearsals as well, and those only turn more feverish as performances approached. She wondered if relations had improved between Will and Hal subsequently. She hadn’t seen Will in ages—since his birthday actually—she assumed that he was probably at the theatre the majority of his time. Hal would have told her if things were had changed, though. Still, the production would still be great; she was excited to see it.

Hal often forgot that people weren't as successful as he was, or that it wasn't so easy to become so. While he was busy with his work, his career had started almost the instant he was out of Uni. He never knew what it was like to struggle in his youth, and he certainly didn't know what it was like when it came to acting. He knew that was one of the reasons why Harry hated him so much, but he couldn't be arsed to care about that. His success was not to blame for Harry's lack of success; they weren't the same person. Hal couldn't overshadow Harry in the same way Harry couldn't overshadow him -- the two just weren't related. Harry could blame Hal all he wanted, but it wouldn't be until he looked in a mirror for a long while that he realised the true problem was in fact himself. It was one of the reasons why Hal was so indifferent to Harry's constant provocation. While it annoyed him, it wasn't all-consuming. Harry was a fly buzzing in his ear, nothing more. Will, on the other hand, was a different beast entirely. Harry had never been Hal's friend, Will had. Now Harry was sucking up to Will and Will was allowing it. Whether it was genuine or just to spite Hal, he wasn't sure. Hal didn't even want to think about it -- both of them were irrelevant. In all honesty, he was just happy that he was getting to see Kate. That was all that mattered.

Late Summer Nights // Hal & Kate

It had been, admittedly, a long and frustrating day. Most days so close to opening were, but this particular day was awful. Not only were he and Will still not on speaking terms, but he was riddled with anxiety over how Kate was going to react to that whole article business. He'd done everything in his power to keep it from running but, unfortunately, the magazine wouldn't budge. On top of all of that, Harry -- the prick he was -- decided to actually hit Hal with his sword as opposed to faking it, which left the entire company taking an hour long break while the medics checked out his torso. The worst part was, Hal knew Harry had done it on purpose. He was a jealous bastard, always had been, and he took his chance to injure Hal in the only way possible. It's not like anything the B-list actor could do would hurt his career. The thought itself was laughable. Hal was just ready to go home. He was just tired, in all honesty, and done with the day. Rehearsal had, as unsurprisingly, run late. Hal, bruised and battered as he was, headed home on his own and left Nick to fend for himself... or go home with Will, as per usual.
