Sea captain costume iterations. Character research for an IP. Getting more an more back into CG again. Generic industrial design presentation technique but it's the idea that matters here.
Xmas greetings illustration (forced, but anyway).
Guider Mecha line art. Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop.
Aeon, typeface design, 2015.
Beaver Logger. Funny animal character design. Back to my roots of sorts. I've been drawing these random profession plus animal species combinations a lot lately to get some routine. I'm participating a digital art workshop at CGSociety at the moment. Focusing on matters that go far beyond technique such as creative visions, intentions, idea, design. The heart and soul of art.

Workshop project plug. This now-graduate associate and I pulled-off an intense workshop on game character design twice in a row at the university a month a go. Now we're developing the concept further and may possibly co-operate with the university staff next semester as they received funds to start game design minor program. We're marketing the workshop concept in social media on the ground level. Pictures or it didn't happen: me lecturing on basics, head drawing in perspective. I made some thank you cards for our benefactors, character concept demonstrators Ada, Laura and our long-time project supporter, professor Satu.
Project Astrages visual development material: Ancient folklore armor. Assignments like this have kept me very busy during last two years. Visualizing an entire franchise.
Letter design work-in-progress. Sepia ink on moleskine. Typography II course project. The starting point is a sort of homage to Dürer but I'll see where this is going. I've always enjoyed calligraphy and lettering so I'd like to design a renaissance serif gone contemporary. I thought I'd activate this blog again after concentrating on my classic art studies blog. I had such a high standard that I didn't want to show any below-bar work. I'll lower that even at the risk of hurting my brand. I'll post some illustration work, post-production visualisations (I'm trying to avoid using the c word, a trend term) of characters, industrial design and environment design for digital games and board games, and in-progress material of design projects, whether success of failure. I'll need to revamp my portfolio and cv anyway to emphasize what I specialize in and what I'm usually being commissioned to do.
Dissertation cover design. February 2014. The client requested a simplified design of a couple at crossroads, as the work is about immigrant marriages in Finland. I made three variations and this one was picked. It has been a year since last post. I've been busy with laborous post-production illustration projects which I can't show yet. I also wanted to focus more on my fine art studies and have been more active on my art student work blog: http://hsuhonen.tumblr.com/ In the last few years an incredible amount of information has become available on figurative art that was previously shunned by the art establishment. I've been very excited about all this revival, devoting much time to traditional art excercises. The self-taught way with the help of books and videos is a slow one as good teachers are not easily available around. Still, many graphic designers, web designers and illustrators have now embraced the classic figure drawing and painting skills as a foundation for visual art and industrial design. Creating fresh, new and unique works will always be the goal of visual art, and I believe the resurgence of meticulous craftsmanship disciplines will aid it even more.

Romeo and Juliet infographic
We had a short infographic course and our assignment was to design one about Romeo and Juliet. I designed an isometric view of the duel scene happening in four stages at a townsquare in Verona.
