hi.. my school starts tomorrow and i'm very nervous! it's the cliche i don't have many friends and being around lots of people in general give me anxiety, do you have any tips or coping methods u use to calm yourself down in situations like this?
Oh, shucks! I’m sorry to hear! :(Although I can’t give a immediate solution, I do have some things I use to help me stay balanced in situations like this! First, if you’re feeling overloaded by all the people and sounds, don’t feel afraid to excuse yourself to the bathroom for five minutes. Just having some piece and quiet with your mind can help you ground yourself. I’d also suggest scheduling! Although it seems very stupid, it actually helps a lot with anxiety. Often when people with a type of anxiety are thrown into a situation they can’t control- for example, school - it can be very harsh. But if you simply put a schedule into your life it can make you feel a lot more in control of your day!
