I am a mother from Gaza, living with my children in extremely difficult conditions. Food is available in the markets, but we simply cannot afford it. For two full weeks, we have not received any donations, and providing even the most basic daily necessities has become a struggle.

He didn’t answer like other children might—no talk of toys, games, or dreams that feel light and easy. He looked at me with the quiet seriousness only children who have seen too much can carry, and said something I will never forget.

‘I want to be an architect,’ he said softly, ‘so I can rebuild our house… the one the occupation destroyed.’

Then he paused, as if picturing it in his mind. And added that he wants to live like other children in the world—inside a safe home, not in a fragile tent that cannot protect us from the winter’s freezing cold or the burning heat of summer.
