Just Another Hellhound

Rosa heard the thud, eyebrows furrowing and a look of concern on her face as he opened the door. “Hey, you okay?” She asked, playing with a bit of her hair.

He seemed okay but the thud was pretty loud.

She grinned and made her way to her room, she showered and put on some jean shorts and a black tank top that was a bit low cut and some heels before making her way to his room. She ran her fingers through her hair and knocked, hands on her hips as she waited

When he heard the knock, Orien rushed to stand, but fell off the corner of his bed instead. The thud could have been heard from the other side of the door. “Uh, o-one second,” he called, growling to himself for being such a klutz.

Rosa grinned and nodded her head. “Okay, sure! I’ll meet you there after I take a shower of my own.” She hummed, excited to be hanging out with someone on the Island.

Orien gave a quick nod, before turning to job back up to the dorms. He looked over his shoulder once, smiling at her. 

Rosas eyebrows rose at his offer before he clarified, giggling a bit at his fixing. “I would love to join you for food. Though a shower could me nice too.” She joked, winking at him and shaking her head, fingers running through her hair.

Rosa grinned and shook her head. “It’s alright, really. It is a public beach after all I just thought that I wouldn’t be found so quick.” She admitted to him, running her fingers through her hair.

She glanced at him, noting how cute he was and shook it off. “Out for a jog or just looking at the view?” She asked, tilting her head to the side.

Rosa had needed some time to de-stress after the long ride to the islands from Mexico. She wanted nothing more than to relax but it wasn’t as simple as taking a long bath or taking a nap. For her, she needed music and a place to dance.

So, she did what anyone would do and grabbed her iPod, not feeling like playing her guitar and headed out.

“So many people.” She sighed. She wasn’t stage shy by any means but she wanted to relax. Rosa found the most secluded spot on the beach that she could, putting her earbuds in and playing her playlist.

Rosa let the music flow through her, letting her boy move to the beat and her hips twisting and moving with each of her movements. She forgot where she was and her eyes shut, stretching out her body and smiling.

When the song ended she came to a halt in the sand, eyes opening slowly and turning to glance at the ocean but coming face to face with someone else instead. She jumped and laughed, headphones falling out of her ears and hands coming up to cover her mouth.

“Oh my gosh you scared me!”

Orien had been out for a run; his favourite form of exercise, and his preferred method of relaxing. He ran along the beach, in the middle of his third lap of it. He had to stop though. There was a girl that hadn’t been there before. She didn’t even seem to notice that he was there. 

Being the curious type, he moved closer to her, and that was when he realized that her eyes were closed, and she had earbuds in. At least that explained why she didn’t seem to notice him.

“maybe not for you, so you can feel free to wander on home if you want.” she said, grinning lazily and tucking her hands in her pockets. “but there’s a whole island to explore and i, for one, am not going to miss out on that opportunity.”

“Pocket dimensions are hard to detect unless you’re a soul sucking monster or someone who hunts them, like me.” Areli replied. “I know she’d be likely to do a sweep of the place, but I also know it’s not likely she would have found it.”

Areli burst out laughing, sounding rather bitter. “You do realize that the most useless heroes and villains were sent to guard us, right? Philocletes hasn’t done anything other than train heros in ages, and Fairy Godmother has the strictest codes on when to use magic. Diaval was a raven for a long time, and Smee- he means well, but he’s not threatening in the slightlest. They’re here to be our babysitters, not protectors.”

“Could have sworn her name was Toothina.” Areli shot back. “And you smell a bit too canine to be a fairy to me.” She said, though she grinned at the snark. “Whether or not you believe me, I don’t give a fuck. I wanted to be sure this place was safe and it is.”

areli smirked, turning to face the dog and tilting her head slightly, hand dropping casually to her sword in case it turned out she needed it. “i was checking out this pocket dimension to make sure it wasn’t inhabited by a soul-eating monster that would kill any poor fool on this island for a meal.” she said easily. “luckily for- well, everyone- it’s clear.”

areli stopped in her tracks a few feet later, a familiar sort of tingling in her bones occuring- she was right in front of the entrance. she reached her hand out and pressed down lightly, watching as the air in front of her dissolved temporarily into a black-and-white checkered sort of emptiness. she waited, but feeling no beldam near, she finally pulled her hand back and watched as the entrance dissolved again, thankful that this was one of those things only a cat would be able to access. lord only ,knew what disasters would happen if someone accidentally fell into a pocket dimension.
