Honestly, I just need to rant about a couple of things today. It’s mainly this obsession with renaming things that are already things to make them sound new and cool. My example is “millennial pink”. It’s baby pink. Pastel pink. There’s nothing new about it. I ordered a millennial pink Magic Band for my trip to Florida this year and in reality, I’ve just ordered a pale pink version of the regular pink band they offer. Secondly, “shadow roots”. I’m going back to blonde this month and this concept of shadow roots is hilarious to me because it’s just root colour. My natural hair is dark, dark brown and I used to have my hair dyed straight onto the root because I would have like an inch of black at the top of platinum blonde. This is like relabelling it to sound en vogue when in actual fact roots coming through is the nightmare of being brunette when you dye your hair blonde. Just, please stop. From a 90′s kid who has had enough.
