My goals with the GIFs were to show what interests me and what fascinates me. The first GIF is of my brothers German Shephard, Mona, who is the biggest sweetheart and extremely photogenic. The second GIF is of NYC in the Spring versus NYC in Autumn. I picked these two images to create the GIF because I have always been fascinated by the way the seasons change in The United States and I have always loved the city. I was born in Ecuador and in Ecuador there really aren’t any season change, everything tends to stay the same throughout the year. When I moved to the U.S. I was fascinated by the way the leaves would change colors and fall in autumn, but would grow back and be a beautiful green color in the Spring. Lastly, the third GIF are all pictures of countries I would love to visit. I’ve always been interested in traveling and experiencing different cultures all over the world, so I decided to create a GIF of the top 5 countries I want to visit. Can you guys guess what they are? Comment and let me know!Â

While planning out and creating this podcast, my goal was to explain and bring to light one of the biggest problems most American students have with college education: General Education Requirements. Â General Education requirements are classes needed to graduate from the university. Â The GenEds vary from historical courses to natural science courses that every single student that passes through the University must fulfill. As a college student, I am completely frustrated by them and truly do believe they are a waste of money. Â If you ask any college student, the majority will say the same. Â
General Education classes are definitely one of the biggest drags in college because many of them may not pertain to your intended major, they're difficult if they're in areas that you are not familiar with, they affect your GPA, and they cost you a lot of money. Gen Eds are often some of the hardest classes you will have to take in college because of the fact that they are forced upon you and you may have absolutely no interest in them, they will completely take up much of your time and energy because you will constantly be reminded that although your major has nothing to do with them, they will still count towards your GPA and lets face it, that sucks.Â
Although we are completely bashing the entire idea behind requiring Gen Eds, we did say that they are not all that bad. Â Gen Eds are useful...sometimes. Â For those with an undeclared major, Gen Eds may open their eyes to other subjects that they never thought they would have an interest in. So, there's a bright side.Â

"The Paris of Toulouse-Lautrec: Prints and Posters", an exhibit containing Parisian art work in order to portray Parisian life through the eyes if late painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, is currently being shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. This exhibit has been running from July 26th and will continue until March 22, 2015. Throughout this exhibit, a viewer is able to experience Paris through the eyes of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901). Toulouse-Lautrec was a painter, printmaker, draftsman, and illustrator from France. Toulouse-Lautrec was born into an aristocratic family and had a genetic disease due to inbreeding which did not allow his legs to heal after being fractured as an adolescent.  This genetic defect caused Toulouse-Lautrec to remain with child-size legs for the rest of his life which often caused him to be out-casted. During his adult life, Toulouse-Lautrec spent a lot of time in brothels and developed friendly relationships with many of the women that worked there. Due to his relationships with them, Lautrec was allowed to use the women as his muses for many different pieces of art work. In addition to living in brothels from time to time, Lautrec was also an alcoholic for most of his adult life.
Henri Toulouse-Lautrec received much praise for being able to capture many different aspects of Parisian lifestyle through his artwork. His artwork was able to to bring the Parisian culture into light for the international public and provide the rest of the world with a little taste of one of the world’s most glamourous cities, Paris.
The exhibit made up of Toulouse-Lautrec’s artwork at the MoMa is able to give people an inside look of Parisian culture through the eyes of a born and raised French painter. Also, Toulouse-Lautrec does not just capture the lives of the upscale crowd that inhabited Paris, he also depicts the lives of the lower classes. He does a remarkable job of desexualizing women whose professions happen to be prostitutes and presents them a regular, hardworking women trying to make a living rather than sexual, disrespected harlots. Toulouse-Lautrec was able to create artwork of low-class women that allowed them to seem equal or sometimes better than women in the upper-class and did not think twice about glamorizing these women.
 "Jane Avril, Jardin de Paris"
Through his art Lautrec aimed at showing others what Parisian life was like whether it was the high end balls or brothels. The women in this painting was one of Toulouse-Lautrec’s biggest muses, his dear friend Jane Avril. Toulouse-Lautrec initially painted the poster in order to promote one of Avril’s largest performance that took place at the Jardin Paris and after his painting Avril began to grow in the entertainment industry. Although Avril was considered a type of exotic dancer in Parisian life, Lautrec does not attempt to sexualize her in the poster. In fact, Lautrec emphasizes on showing her talent and putting her name out there as a respectful performer.
 "At the Moulin Rouge"
Toulouse-Lautrec’s painting of the crowd at the Moulin Rouge is an excellent example of the manner he strips all the glamour from scenarios and presents them as normal gatherings. When a person begins to think of life in Paris during the time period of Toulouse-Lautrec, they immediately begin to imagine glamour, fame, and upscale events. Many different outlets of the entertainment industry such as movies and different paintings often show these time periods to be filled with people dressed in high fashion, elegant locations filled with jewels, and a crowd of upscale citizens, but Lautrec does not do this. Toulouse-Lautrec uses dark, matte type colors in his painting of “At the Moulin Rouge” which makes the upscale club seem dark and boring. The crowd in the photo does not seem to be all laughs and happiness like they are usually portrayed, but seem gloomy and somewhat boring.
"In the Dining Room of the Brothell"
This painting by Toulouse-Lautrec is one of the prime examples of the manner in which he desexualizes the prostitutes that worked at the brothels and was able to depict them in a more respectful light than they usually were thought of. The simple act of painting these women in a dining room sharing a regular meal versus painting them while they worked was one of the biggest reasons Toulouse-Lautrec has been praised in the art world. The artists uses many pastel, bright, summery colors throughout this painting which gives off emotions of happiness and enjoyment rather than the dark, matte colors used in the “At the Moulin Rouge” painting. By doing this Toulouse-Lautrec is showing the viewer that as a painter and a person he valued the women that worked at the brothels more than the crowd at the Parisian club. Â
American singer-songwriter and producer, John Mayer released his album, Continuum, in September of 2006. Continuum consists of some of Mayer’s finest works which include “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room”, “Gravity”, and “Dreaming with a Broken Heart”. Mayer is still continuing his career as a singer-songwriter/producer. After Continuum, Mayer released three more albums: Battle Studies (2009), Born and Raised (2012), and Paradise Valley (2013). Basically, Mayer is still an unmarried playboy that can make one hell of a love song. [1] Continuum was brilliantly produced by Mayer himself with the help of Steve Jordan. It contains a little bit of everything from blues and soft punk to R&B a bit of pop, a very "John Mayer" album. Mayer covers just about everything in the twelve songs included in his album from world-wide issues in "Waiting on the World to Change" to extremely sad, "how can I live" heartbreaks like the one spoken about in "When You're Dreaming with a Broken Heart".
Mayer is known for using his lyrics to express himself clearly throughout his songs and in “Waiting on the World to Change” he utilized words perfectly to describe his view of on war and the media’s influence over everyone. Mayer says, “"When you trust your television/What you get is what you got/'Cause when they own the information/They can bend it all they want,” Mayer slyly gives his outlook on the media and their way to change the news into whatever they want the public to think.Â
One of Mayer’s stellar songs from Continuum definitely has to be "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room". This song is the song you play when you’re in a relationship that seems to be going down the drain, but you do your best to think it’s not because you’re way too scared to let go for whatever reason and then you listen to this song. It’ll open up your eyes, maybe make you shed a tear or two and allow you to realize that you are indeed “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room”. The old-school blues and jazzy rhythm and instruments utilized in this particular song adds onto the brilliantly thought out lyrics and vocals created and visualized by Mayer. Unlike some of his other songs with love as the topic, Mayer’s lyrics give the essence of sadness, but understanding of how a relationship could be everything someone one wants, but it’s slowly deteriorating in front of them. Personally, this certain song is not only a favorite off of Continuum, but it is a favorite from every song John Mayer has composed. The soothing sound of the guitar with the Mayer’s vocals that express emotion through pitches and lyrics add so much value to the song and the album as a whole.
Although Continuum is an extremely brilliant album, there is one song that is somewhat a dud when compared to the other eleven songs on the album.  “Bold as Love” does not reach the high levels of the other songs on Continuum. It lyrically lacks some content and the instruments utilized does not assist the song in becoming any better. The instruments overpower Mayer’s voice and distracts the listener a little. Sorry to break it to you Mr.Mayer, but "Bold as Love" is the ugly duckling of the album.
Internet poetry is an abstract, visual twist on poetry. Internet users utilize pictures, gifs, words, and screenshots in order to create what they interpret as poetry. It is an electronic form and more of a visual form of poetry.  The creators of these internet poems usually use pictures, relevant or irrelevant, and post some type of text over the pictures. At first sight internet poetry looks really weird and out of the box, but once browsing through a bunch of different ones a person is able to see the poetic side of all these different, abstract images and texts.
This image really stuck out to me apart from all the other images because of the simple text, but the important message I interpreted from it. I believe that in this internet poem the author is trying to show the manner in which relationships have curved away from interpersonal relationships, but have turned into digital relationships between two people. I interpreted that the digital relationships people are in causes them to be lonely in reality, but whenever they receive a text or call they immediately find comfort. These people depend mostly on technology in order to feel secure within their relationship or feel wanted.
This internet poem is expressing a worldwide issue that is the obsession society has with always being connected to digital media platforms. The computer mouse being connected to the vein of the hand signifies how connected society really is to the internet. It is sort of saying that technology has infiltrated us and is now vital part of our lives that keeps us moving like the blood in our veins. The quote being used for this poem is being utilized by the author as a wake-up call for society. The message the author is trying to get across is that maybe we should stop taking pictures of every little thing we are doing and begin to enjoy the moment more. Also, this image is saying that we should stop being do dependent on technology and start working more towards actually living life than just making sure we show everyone else that we are.Â
This internet poem depicts the way in which people tend to put up a façade over social media websites. Although it is just stating that people seem pretty and nice and lovely via the internet, it can also be interpreted as other different ways people may pretend to be over the internet. This internet poem can also be a representation of how people only want to show off on social media. People tend to post their best pictures, biggest news, and best events all over any social media platform. This often leads others into believing that those people are living a perfect, happy life which may not always be the case.Â
Internetpoetry.Tumblr.Com is definitely a different kind of blog compared to other blogs out there. The poetry style of the users is something I personally had not seen before being exposed to this tumblr site. People who are interested in abstract versions of poetry and art should definitely look into the Internet Poetry tumblr blog, but it is not for everyone. The website itself sometimes may not make sense for some, but it will for others which is somewhat the entire basis of poetry in general. The blog does allow people to submit which makes it interactive and attracts those who may be interested in submitting. Also, it has many different internet poems that different people can relate to. Â
Internet poetry is an abstract, visual twist on poetry. Â Internet users utilize pictures, gifs, words, and screenshots in order to create what they interpret as poetry.Â
