Audibase Audio Gifs

Gifs, despite being first created in the late eighties, are a massive element of our web browsing. Considering all the technological developments in the years since their conception, gifs really should have kicked the bucket a good while ago, and the space they left filled by something new and shiny for us to get bored of.

But, even with us being a culture obsessed by the next big thing, we’ve proved pretty reluctant to relinquish gifs to the cyber wastelands where Myspace currently collects dust.

This is because gifs are attention grabbing.

They’re short, simple and effective.

They require less commitment and brain participation than videos.

They’re funny, almost hypnotic, and drag you in over and over.

They are the Bermuda Triangle of the internet, into which someone will eventually stumble and find all the time I’ve lost to Animals Being Dicks over the years.

In short, people love gifs. Whether they’re of babies dancing, cats being grumpy, or twerking gone wrong, people go crazy for them.

Gifs obviously aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Something that Audibase has obviously realised, judging by the fact they’ve recently added the use of animated gifs to their audio social network.
