The archangel had relocated to one of the plush, squishy chairs as sat down with the baby in his lap. “We could stay.” He whispered after a moment, glancing down at their daughter.

"Maybe one day." Sam smiled wistfully at the shelves as he grabbed a single book and headed over to his family. "I think Rosie is getting antsy, we probably ought to head over to the den."

“I’m so short I only go up to your chest. You’re that tall to me.” She pouts.

"How do you reach anything? You're tiny."

Older than most hunters manage, sure, and I’m a dad now so that instantly makes me count as ancient, but I only have a few grey hairs!

True, and the gray hairs aren’t very obvious.

“Perfect, be back soon” Jass said teleporting to a nearby store.

Sam sat down and started work on a list of friends and family members, cross referencing in an attempt to figure out a safe configuration of guests, and had the sudden realisation that his wedding was almost certainly going to end in bloodshed.

Jass came back with a handful of items. Such as a cake, a single slice of pie for Dean, a banner and mini confetti guns. “So how’s the list coming along?” Jass said with a slight squeak in her voice as she placed the items down.

“This family is even more dysfunctional than I thought.” Sam frowned.

Jass began decorating. “Who do you have down so far?” Jass asked grabbing a stool to hang the banner.

“You and me, obviously. Dean, Cas, Gabe. Then it gets a little tricky. If I invite Dad there’ll be trouble, but not inviting him could have the same effect. Most of the angels have pissed off one or other of the hunters, the demons have issues with everyone, and either Dean or Gabe has slept with almost everyone else.”

“Well then” Jass said as she hung the banner almost falling off of the stool. “How about Erica?” Jass suggested.

Sam quickly moved to stabilise her. "Yeah I think she's safe enough."

Gabriel smiled back, laughing when Rosie wrapped her arms around Sam’s neck in a hug. “Looks like someone has already started the hugging, so you wanna head out now or is there something you need to grab first?”

“I have everything I need right here.”

“Sap.” Chuckling, the archangel wrapped his fiance and daughter up in his arms and grace, before flying them to the cozy, bigger than your average living room of his home in Norway. Rosie squealed at the act, reaching up to try to grab some of the dangling feathers of the archangels wings.

“Hey, it’s my birthday, I can be as sappy as I want.”

“I know, I was just teasing.” Shaking his head fondly, Gabriel reached up to ruffle Sam’s hair. “So! What’s first? Tour of the library or cuddles and tummy time for Rosie in the den?”

“Tour of the library. We’ll never leave the den once we get there.”

“True.” Looping his arm through one of Sam’s, Gabriel lead him away from the living room and down the hall towards the massive library. “I’ve collected all of this over the years, some of it is actually my children’s from when they were younger.l

“It’s incredible.” Sam looked around at the books, so many of them that there was no way he would be able to get through all of them in his lifetime. “How many of them have you read?”

“All of them. At least, all the ones in this library.” Gabriel replied, gently taking Rosie back so that Sam could do a little exploring. “You can have them, this place, if you want.”

"Wow. Have I mentioned how awesome you are today?" Sam brushed his fingers across the spines of a row of books, reading title after title and letting the calm that always settled over him in libraries sink in. "I love it here."

“All the mushrooms do is give me a boost to jump. Or grow back to normal size.” Alice said, pouting.

“Mhmm. The caterpillar’s hookah then?”

“I haven’t used it in months. You’re just so tall you haven’t noticed me.”

"I'm tall, but I'm not THAT tall."
