Percy Jackson by Burdge
last day of summer from the pjo musical is actually an insane song. so i'll do anything??? i don't care if i hurt anyone???? it doesn't pay to be a good kid??? a good kid???? a good son?????????
the gods were never on our side???? so i think it’s time we watch them fall????? and soon you’ll see what i did????? soon there’ll be no gods at all???????????
titan's curse is going to be so fucking good for so many reasons but the main one is simply the fact that the writers have done a really good job so far at portraying annabeth as the heart of the story even if she's not it's protagonist. everything in this story comes back to annabeth - thalia, luke, grover, percy, they're all connected to her, and connected to eachother through her. so a full season of her loved ones trying to get her back, trying to save her? while her complicated relationship with luke is on full display? we are going to eat so good i fear

im just now thinking about the comedic implications of Luke canonically keeping a diary as a young teenager because it becomes even funnier to imagine him maintaining that habit into his adulthood and angrily writing in it every time he got his ass beat by a 12 year old
Luke Castellan (20) after getting humiliated by Percy (13) at the end of SoM
hey-
a doodle i'm very sad i lost in my endless folders...! he'd fight a god of war at 12 and i'd fight the world for his smile. thank you for being one of the first books in english i ever read <3
u ever like cry about how percy uh became friends with tyson and defended him from bullies even though like tyson was kinda dirty and didn’t smell great and cried a lot and percy’s own reputation directly suffered from being friends with him…..and he met him at the subway at the same time every morning so tyson wouldn’t get agitated and stands guard by his stall so tyson doesn’t feel uncomfortable changing for PE and even after he gets publicly humiliated by poseidon claiming tyson he’s embarrassed but he still defends tyson so much that he yells at annabeth for badmouthing him………and then u find out that tyson PRAYED for help and poseidon just uh sent percy and didn’t even have to tell him to do anything bc percy is just so Good and cares So Much that it’s instinctual for him to defend people who need help….:

Every time I remember Thalia's actress in the show is British I laugh. Please keep her British. I need to see Percy making fun of her accent like "bit sad innit pinecone face" when he gets pissed and Thalia electrocuting him with four lightning bolts in a row. It would be extremely in character
I would go so far as to assert that percy's relationship with hazel is his second (arguably third) most demonstrably intense and emotional and mutually caring friendship in the books but people (including other percy fans) would scoff at this because they don't remember a single thing from son of neptune and are stunted by their inability to think about hazel for even one second
percy never had a conversation in the first 5 books like the one he had with hazel in the old alaska shack. he called hazel's mother beautiful and said she looks just like her. his voice broke from emotion when he confessed to her how scary it was to nearly drown and hazel consoled him instantly even though she herself had died before. she assures him that he won't die, that he'll make it home to annabeth and that solace is exactly what he needed to hear. percy tells her how valuable she is and that he needs her by his side and that he and frank won't let thanatos take her back. hazel thinks to herself that she'd be okay with dying again as long as percy and frank survive the quest. chapters later percy states clearly that he trusts hazel and frank as much as anyone from his past and she kisses him on the cheek and tells him that he's her family. THIS is the kind of intense platonic friendship that people claim they want more of but don't acknowledge in practice!
"believe me, I've been thinking about it"
percabeth fluff 7!!
[prompt list]
"Are you sure?" Annabeth asked Percy again. She'd spent the day helping him clean the apartment, making sure all the baby stuff was ready and totally set up, and talking to him as he completely freaked out about becoming an older brother.
And now it was her turn to freak out.
Sally and Paul had left for the hospital that morning.
"Geriatric!" Sally had complained, not for the first time. "They think thirty-seven is geriatric, can you believe it!" Because of her age, the hospital wanted to induce labor. The birth was scheduled for that day, so off Paul and his geriatric wife went, while Percy waited for a message that it was time for him to go to the hospital.
He'd gotten that call -- well, the landline had gotten that call -- four minutes ago.
"Come on, get your shoes on!" Percy said.
"Are you sure you're sure?" Annabeth asked. "I don't want to intrude ... this is a very private, important family thing!"
Percy stared at her. "You are family," he said simply, "and of course my mom wants you there. My mother adores you."
Annabeth tried to inhale, hoping not to start weeping before the baby was even born, but as she sucked in a breath, all she managed to really do was squeak.
Percy pulled her in for a hug. "Come on, she's gonna kind of be your sister too," Percy said.
"Oh gods, don't sister-zone me now!" Annabeth begged, pulling out of his embrace to find her sneakers.
"No, I just mean ... like, sister in-law, you know?"
"Oh," Annabeth said, standing up from where she'd been slipping on her shoe. "Do you think about that a lot?" She asked.
"Um ... "
"Like us getting married?" Annabeth asked. Percy looked sheepish and like he was thinking about jumping out the window. She decided to put him out of his misery. "Because I was thinking ... you know, this means we've got our flower girl. We'll just have to wait to get married until she can walk down an isle."
Percy was smiling, a wide dopey grin. He grabbed her, wrapping her in a tight hug that lifted her feet off the ground, and pressing a kiss to the side of her head.
~
Percy watched Annabeth nervously hold Estelle. Sally passedher the baby gently as Annabeth explained she'd never really held a baby before. "Just mind her head," Sally said, "That's it. Not too hard, is it?”
"You alright, sport?" Paul asked him.
Percy realized then that he'd been staring, lost in visions and ideas of his own future with Annabeth. And a future that included his baby sister.
"Yeah," Percy promised, "totally normal."
fluff 24 for the Roman Percy AU perhaps?? I love when you do prompt games!! Thank you!
“how mad would you be if i kissed you?”
Roman Percy AU -- AU where Percy is born a Son of Neptune, and he is swapped with Annabeth, instead of Jason (Son of Zeus). They have a long secret love affair. Here's how it starts ....
[prompt list]
~
Annabeth rarely felt secure in her relationships to other people. Everyone seemed to love pushing her away, abandoning her somewhere, or just straight up dying on her.
Percy was different though.
She had expected Percy to be a lot of things: brave, strong, unhinged, vaguely scary (although not so scary she was actually intimidated). He turned out to be brave and strong, and maybe scary depending on the day. But he was hinged, and more than that, he was funny, and nice. He respected her.
And he was hot. And he had a bad habit of looking at her when he told a joke. Why was she always laughing? Why could he always make her laugh?
On the Argo II, sailing towards certain death, two of a quest of seven, was pretty much the worst place in the world she could have developed a crush on someone. Percy was sure to go back to New Rome at the end of this. If either of them even survived. The odds of that were incredibly low.
But then Percy had gone and done something really monumentally dumb.
He'd fallen into Hell with her.
Annabeth had been left behind plenty of times. She'd had someone sacrifice her life to save Annabeth's own just once. She'd never had someone make sure that when she died, she didn't die alone. Percy had. He held onto her, tried to pull her up, and when that failed, he let go of the ledge, but not her.
But then of course, they hadn't died after all.
That had been the biggest surprise. They held the doors shut together as a muzak rendition of September played, and their bodies started to return to them.
She hadn't had time to kiss him when they got top side. They were too busy being possessed, because Tartarus itself hadn't been enough.
Relieved to be back in her own cabin, Annabeth showered, squeezing the grime out of her hair and scrubbing her body raw. Jason had been nice enough to get her favorite lemon shampoo for her, and to pack some of her favorite pajamas, since Annabeth was too busy becoming a Roman Preator to pack for herself.
The familiar scent of her shampoo overwhelmed her, and she gripped the cold wall of the shower as she realized it was the longest time she had ever spent away from camp. She hadn't been this far, this detached, this removed from camp life since she was seven.
The beauty of crying in the shower was that no one could see it or hear it. She let the water wash the suds out of her hair and then down the front of her face, to wash the tears away.

Percabeth future AU “I meant it when I said for better or for worse”
okay so I started this, forgot about the prompt completely, and then barely worked it in. sorry!
~
It was the first day of summer. Technically, it was the first day of Percy's summer. School was out.
And that meant he was asleep.
Annabeth insisted that he really, properly sleep in that Saturday, instead of their usually seven a.m wake ups by their rowdy girls, or worse: his usual five a.m wake ups to get to school by the 7:30a.m start time.
Today when Nella and Sophia had knocked on their door to wake them up, Annabeth had just kissed Percy's cheek, told him to stay in bed, and gotten up alone to entertain the girls.
Percy had tried to protest; Annabeth was four months pregnant and needed rest, he claimed. But for the first time, she had a pregnancy that wasn't making her sick. In fact, she'd spent the whole thing so far imitating the very hungry caterpillar, and encountering new and increasingly specific food cravings.
But Percy was so exhausted himself that it really only took her leaving him along in the dark and quiet bedroom for him to fall right back to sleep.
"Where's Daddy?" Sophia had asked immediately.
"Sleeping," Annabeth said in a whisper. "He's really, really sleepy, so we're not going to bug him this morning."
"I won't bug him," Sophia said, trying to push past her. Annabeth stopped her.
"By not bug him I mean we leave him alone to sleep," Annabeth explained. "We're going to give Daddy some privacy so he can rest."

Do you ever think about how Annabeth kissed Percy and then spent two whole weeks crying thinking he was dead. And then when she's mentalized herself about it he comes back. And then he doesn't say it but it becomes very clear that he's spent those two weeks at an island with a beautiful immortal nymph all on their own. And also immediately started talking about that mortal girl he'd met a few times as well about how they needed her for the quest before even consulting Annabeth about it.
The boy was in danger without even realizing. Like damn he was playing with the patience of that 14yo girl without noticing😭
you can tell when I'm going through a particularly stressful period at work because the percababy fics start multiplying like ... well ... percababies. this one is set around the same time that this one is

Annabeth opened the box of pregnancy tests. Still breast feeding Olivia, she knew odds were low. But she wanted a fourth baby, and wanted the fourth pregnancy to be over with. She scrapped her plan to wait a year and a half, never started birth control again, told Percy they should start trying when Olivia was only eleven months old.
They'd been at it for about four months now. Not the longest they'd been left waiting for conception, not by a long shot. Sophia had taken an exhausting and terrifying eleven months. Olivia was thirteen months old, nearly fourteen months, and the holidays were finally behind them. Percy and Annabeth needed a vacation, honestly. But they'd take an afternoon.
She and Percy were going out for the afternoon, a date for just the two of them. And if she wasn't pregnant, she was going to get a glass of wine with lunch. She was sick to death of some of her coworkers, and she either needed the euphoria of another baby, or the small pleasure of a pricey glass of red wine.
Annabeth sat to pee, the test between her legs. Sophia must have sensed she was in the middle of a very private, deeply vulnerable moment, because she opened the door to Annabeth's bathroom without concern.
Whatever Sophia came in for escaped her five-year-old mind, in favor of asking: "What are you doing?"
Annabeth was starting to wonder if a fourth one was a good idea after all. And then she felt a bit guilty. She tried not to sound annoyed as she explained the obvious: "I'm going potty. Can I have some privacy please?"
Sophia interpreted this as a request for her to turn around, not to leave and close the door. Through the open door, Annabeth could hear Sally's voice, and suspected Sophia had been sent in to let Annabeth know she'd arrived. Annabeth prayed to whatever god was in charge of this specific domain that her mother-in-law didn't seek Annabeth out herself.
