So Shane Hollander is put on IR for something minor and gets to join the Ottawa WAGs for a game. They are so jazzed they get him a WAG jacket just for the occasion. They’re coming down the stairs of the stadium in a pack and the jumbotron catches them. The WAGs all jump up and down and start waving, grabbing and pointing to Shane’s jacket as he blushes, until one new girl in platform heels buckles her ankles and nearly biffs it.

NEARLY because Shane Hollander catches her with his professional athlete reflexes. With no room to move on the crowded steps, he pulls her into a bridal carry like she weighs peanuts and twists and shuffles her to a seat. He places her down gently and gets on one knee to ask if she’s ok. She is truly swooning. Everyone in the stadium is swooning.

Shane rights himself and to his surprise a grown woman and girlfriend of his teammate is requesting “uppies”. He tries to laugh it off. Dr. Lisa Hayes announces “You guys are amateurs, watch this!”

She sprints up a couple of steps, turns, and jumps. Shane catches her immediately, but flops her into a fireman carry. He goes full captain about how unsafe this is and they should all know better. He then puts Lisa down just as gently and she high-fives the new girl with no remorse.

Every Centaur accuses Shane of trying to steal their girl. Ilya wants “uppies”.

I want a friendship between Shane and Cliff Marleau (sort of like an extrovert adopts an introvert type of thing). Pre-outing, they’re close enough that Shane comes out to him.

“Hey,” Cliff says, suddenly struck with the best idea he’s ever had. “I think I know someone you’d get along great with.”

“Marleau, I’m not really looking—“

“No, no, trust me. He’s a good guy, and one of the best hockey players I’ve ever met—aside from you, of course.”

Shane isn’t sure where Cliff is going with this, but he does know he’s not interested in anyone but Ilya.

“I know you mean well but—“

“Rozanov,” Cliff announces, grin a mile wide, and Shane blinks. Cliff, for his part, is incredibly sure this is a good idea; he knows that Ilya is bisexual, even if he doesn’t talk about it. Even Cliff is aware of the dangers with Russia. Even if the rest of the league hates it, they can fuck off.

Mistaking Shane’s silence for skepticism, Cliff continues, “I know he seems like an asshole, but he’s one of the best men you’ll ever meet. I know you’ve seen it—the whole rivalry thing is bullshit anyways, right? He’s actually a big softie…”

Cliff talks up Ilya, and Shane smiles, glad that Ilya has such a good friend—even though he isn’t sure how to tell Cliff that he and Ilya are already an item.

birthday party: ilya hosts a bday party and the theme is different eras of ilya, so luca decided to show up in the one boston rozanov jersey he owns (he brought it with him to ottawa because it’s just that special to him), he was hoping ilya wouldn’t notice the signature but he eventually does

shane: when shane moves to ottawa luca shyly asks for his autograph on some kind of hollander merch he owns and ilya asks why luca never asked for his autograph, so he reveals that he already got it years ago

sick: back when he’s a rookie luca gets sick, so ilya decides to check in on him since he wasn’t in practice and somehow stumbles upon the signed jersey in lucas room

picture: luca’s junior team/mother/someone from his past makes a post using a picture from the time luca and ilya met to celebrate ottawa winning the cup
