HI EVERYONE!!! hope you are all well, i’ve been a little busy (understatement, tbh) travelling. i’m also off most of my socials and became my worst enemy: a person who can live without their phone <///3

i made reading a part of my morning routine, be it an article or an excerpt from a book; just something small to keep my writing brain awake. when i can be bothered, i write about it in a journal and might even try to add my two cents to it.

don’t apologise, it made perfect sense to me! a lot of my works are filled with yapping because my mind runs like a thousand thoughts per minute and then i feel the need to dig deep on every feeling and situation - but hey, it makes for a great story.

the constant repetition really emphasizes the reader’s state of mind and i love how we get to live it from daniela perspective too. i can kind of see the theme of the story but would love if you could elaborate the poem at the end!

p.s. why daniela?

honestly, the story had no direction when i began writing it sometime ago - just kept on adding my thoughts to it really…until it had some sort of structure and could build a world around it. i don’t expect this one to cop a ton of love since as it is, as mentioned, deeply personal to me.

the poem is inspired by the concept of ‘cannibalism in the form of a metaphor for love’ - the kind i envisioned daniela and y/n having. it’s destruction disguised as devotion. your bones and soul all become hers; loving someone so much you let them consume your entire being.

the original poem have lines like: “to let her feast upon you / and be eaten down to silence / and still believe it holy.”

and i listened to a ton of preacher’s daughter writing this — strangers and televangelism the most. i hope that made sense.

also, it’s daniela because i keep on having random unprovoked dreams about her 💀

i enjoyed reading normal people - beautiful, complex characters and so hauntingly human. there’s class disparity between the two, which imo is the main root of their unhealthy connection.

i tried your chicken pasta recipe and it was fucking amazing. do you have easy breakfast recipes by any chance? would love to try another one :))

i’m glad you liked it! hmmm, with breakfast (only if i’m feeling fancy, usually just have a morning coffee), i rotate between these four:

1. butter croissant, cut in half. one side is a spread of cream cheese, the other with basil pesto. add tomatoes, hot honey ham (any kind of deli meat will do tbh but the heat balances the heaviness of the cream cheese)

2. butter croissant, cut in half. add basil pesto on both sides. then, cut cherry tomatoes, bocconcini and arugula. glaze this with gourmet balsamic vinegar (it’s literally called a gourmet glaze and is thicker than the normal one); either in the sandwich or the plate

3. this one’s my all time favourite — buttered sourdough, dill and garlic yoghurt, poached eggs. top with crispy sweet potatoes and krunchilli. you can add any leafy greens with this. and i usually love adding spanish chorizo with it
