okay, i like the ending and i don’t. everyone fucking died. which is why we’re all so confused. we didn’t even get jeremy added to the gilbert family reunion, reuniting with elena. julie and kevin didn’t fill in everyone building up their futures, just showed them finding peace, in death. to me, that’s so sad. i understand everyone lost so much and their loved ones, but finally finding peace when you die? we didn’t get to see them at least be happy while they were alive. and poor caroline is the only vampire alive, all alone. )): the show lost its meaning. and for what? 8 seasons for everyone to be happy in death? and don’t even get me started on delena. the original deleted ending for season 8 included damon proposing to elena and rebuilding the gilbert house. a delena wedding would’ve been nice. what happened to elena’s wishes in season 6 for them to go back to new york, specifically tribeca, and raise 2 kids and underneath their apartment damon would own a bar?
and damon fucking salvatore is finally what he wanted to be, human! and we didn’t even get a minute of him adjusting to his new life. also lmao katherine literally doesn’t exist anymore? how did kai cast that spell? he has to be out of the prison world. the final scene, with kev and julie ending the series how it started, “hello, brother.” you could see in stefan and damon’s eyes they were so sad. they found peace, but peace is empty. i love ian but delena’s scene was dry af, ian couldn’t hold his shit together and act like damon for 5 minutes. so unprofessional. at least we saw bonnie bennett being the most powerful witch she could ever be and finally not dying, getting the happiness she deserves. only iconic thing about this episode was katherine. the finale was just empty and dry, but bittersweet.
