-i head canon that Arnold’s and Lila’s current relationship is that of ‘friendship’…but not really. They can sometimes act a bit like..rivals. Especially when it comes to trying to get..a certain blonde girl’s attention.

the episode where she goes to therapy changed me as a kid. the narrative treats her with this sense of sympathy and literally every component of her world as a character is absolutely fascinating. the way she loves arnold because after years of only ever knowing neglect, he was kind to her. the way she cannot fucking stand her sister and resents her for being the golden child but loves her anyway. the way her mother's alcoholism and her father's greed have colored her whole life and behavior and perspective. and in the end arnold loves her too, because of course he does, he sees her the way we do -- as a whole person who's got so much to love about her. and it's the way almost no one else sees her, because they dont know her. but the audience does, because the writers REALLY do.

I like the idea that helga looks exactly like her grandma... idk why, and that bob keeps calling her Olga because the way she looks exactly like his mom (and kinda a hc that he called his mom by her name because she had him very young and didn't like being called mom, bc it made her feel old)
