a girl with equestrian features,  a rare sight to see but not entirely unheard of.  after all,  while small in numbers,  people with  "  strange  "  features could be found within the walls of ohkema.  take,  for example,  herself,  a sea siren with liquid flowing in her abdomen like a glass bottle,  and her spine visible.  or the little kitten fish,  a dolos child with feline ears and tail.  perhaps there was a lost city with horse—featured people.  in any case,  while hysilens had gotten used to being stared at  (  as  the  only  sea  siren  of  styxia  left  )  ,  it seems as though current okhema still had their tendancy of leering at the unknown.

fingers gently rubbed against the smooth surface of sea glass,  having delicately and carefully shaped it from its original form to one bearing some resemblance to a cat head,  an attempt to find any imperfections,  any sharp edges that would harm the one hysilens would gift it to.  would the little kitten fish like this.ᐣ.ᐣ  or would simple dried fish be enough.ᐣ.ᐣ  but that was a gift she always left for the child  (  though  child  she  was no  longer  )  ,  wouldn't one be bored of it.ᐣ.ᐣ  hence her attempt of art,  of shaping glass to make a trinket.  hysilens hoped it was enough.  (  as  a  back  up,   she  did  have  a  small  bag  of  dried  fish  handy  )

speaking of,  perhaps drawn to the scent,  little hooded ears could be seen peaking around the corner.

there is literally only one answer i can think of and it's a certain  "  intellitron lygus  ".  i mean,  what chrysos heir doesn't despise him.  it.  whatever pronoun they use.  lygus is the bane of her existance and even though,  she and the trailblazer defeated him,  she will never forget.

while i would love to say,  when hysilens is with cerydra,  unfortunately,  i can't.  yes,  she is safe when she's with her majesty,  it isn't the  "  full body relax, like a dozing cat  "  safe but rather a  "  i can trust nothing bad will happen when i'm around you  "  safe.  and unfortunately,  she can no longer get that  "  dozing  "  feeling because the last time she felt that was before phagousa fell,  before she obtained the ocean's coreflame.  she was at peace with her siblings,  where she didn't have to worry about any strange noises,  where music and cheerful laughter was all she heard.  where she was familiar with what was around her.

make no mistake,  she does feel safe with cerydra,  with the other chrysos heirs ( specifically, aglaea and " tribios " ) but it isn't the same.
