HeisTank is not weird he's eccentric!

Putting a male protagonist in the position Adrien is in IS GOOD. It goes to show how often people tend to overlook male victims of abuse and harassment because, oh- you know, why bother pay attention to that. they’re GUYS. suck it up right? :))) Adrien is a super interesting character, full of love despite his upbringing, in denial about his situation due to a complex relationship with his father, willing to take the shots for those he loves so dearly. By no means is this boy perfect, but the world perceives him as just that, putting more pressure onto him, to watch his steps and never talk out of turn. Emotional Responses? More like ~hysterical outbursts~, amiright? Sounds familiar? That’s what women get blamed for on a daily basis. A male protagonist facing issues that people would immediately recognize if he was female goes to show the double standards and lack of media coverage on male victims of abuse.

TLDR Adrien is a very well written character, depicted realistically. It’s okay to have other favorite characters or plot lines but dismissing Adrien’s situation/The Agreste plotline as “an annoying pity party” goes to show how people just don’t take these issues seriously when the victim of abuse/harassment is male.
